I thought all PDF’s 105’s came with Piezo stock? Also, I’ve never seen a non veneer top on this model. True?

Thoughts appreciated.

A PDF105 without piezo is a PDF100. Without quilted/flamed veneer it's a PDF70. Unless it has Sperzel locking tuners and Duncan pickups; then it's some kind of mutt.

Yeah, that’s my feeling as well. I saw a guitar that was said to be an original owner guitar as a 105, but he said it never had piezo and there’s no veneer.

He either doesn’t know, forgot the model number when he bought it, or was told it was a 105.

Hey @jester700 I have found that a PDF60 also has locking tuners (not spezels, the Parker import locking tuners, same as the PDF70) and Duncan pickups.

Is seems the only way to determine a 60 vs 70 is the body wood. Basswood for the 60 and Mahogany for the 70. I still can't tell (by the weight of guitar or the resonance) which this is.

Yeah; it can be difficult to tell. Basswood is usually lighter, but sometimes they're close. Basswood is softer, too - if you want to stick a thin rod in a screw hole somewhere, but that's slightly destructive.

The color codes for the black are different as well, but I'm not sure what you have. I think the 70 is "PB" (I'm assuming that's pearl black, with some pearlescence to it) and the 60 is just B.

Thanks for the color codes info. It looks just black to
Me.

A shot from the electronics cavity, the sides, look like the grain lines of ash (cavity is painted black and hard to see). Attached an ash wood pic for reference.

Too bad there’s no serial number guide for the PDF line.
