Real world use of the new Fly Flex Ribbon Cables

Post by dayn »

Writing a post to share about some real world use of the new Flex that the VJ Fly Clone team put together. I recently completely re-worked a Parker Fly Stealth - it used to have an onboard GK3 kit, plus RMC piezo/synth via outboard preamp - the only DOUBLE-MIDI Fly on the planet, to my knowledge. I reworked the guitar to have stock Fishman piezo with Gen.1 electronics using the new Flex ribbon cables. I found them to be sturdy, easy to work with, pliable enough to bend, great to solder to, and worked exactly as they should, like the originals. I even wired the guitar to "look stock" but of course under the hood it is very custom. I spliced lots of wiring variations onto the new ribbon and they held up fine.

If you need new ribbon cables, the new stuff rocks! Thanks VJ!
