Noodler in the house...

Post by Noodler »

I found out about this forum over on TGP. Very happy to not only see a dedicated forum for the Fly enthusiasts, but all the work being done to keep the dream alive...

Some older shots of some of my Parkers:

Missing is a couple of my Dragons and more SCs.

Hopefully some of you folks may remember me from the Parker Forum days... too bad a lot of that content is mostly gone now (although some of it can be dug up from the Wayback Machine).

Hey Noodler!
Welcome home, man.
VJ is the host here. Very knowledgeable and a real kind soul. He offered us a place to meet and share our love for the Parker guitars.
Nice collection!
Good to have you back!!!

Thanks Patrick. Your screen name was the first one I noticed when I jumped on here... so I knew I was in the right place. ;)

I always enjoyed all the discussion about the cool guitars guys were having built by the custom shop, but of course those days are now long behind us. I always hope to find one of those rare custom beauties available for sale, but at this point I doubt many of those will ever leave their homes. They'll probably just get passed down through the generations like a fine classic car. I was fondly remembering Loki's custom Norse trio set of Flys and wondering where they now live since they were sold...

FWIW, @Noodler, I’ve tracked down the owner of Thor and Odin from that custom shop line 🙂 Not sure the current owner is interested in parting with them, but I’m happy to say that they’re being cared for in the possession of “one of us” 😉

And ... Thor has finally found it's way to Rob's shop on Reverb.

If I recall, he has two others from that run as well. 🔨

Odin and Loki have yet to make a appearance.

I don’t think I know Rob from here, but I have chatted with him via Reverb. I wanted to get my facts straight, so I found this post that I’d written this a while back (separate thread) after such a chat:
vjmanzo wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 9:36 am I am in touch with the current owner of both Thor and Odin. As you likely know, those instruments were hardtail versions of the Fly Artist in both spruce (Odin) and cedar (Loki) and the Fly Mojo (Thor) with a reduced number of controls and no piezo system.
…so he likely has Odin as well; Rob seems nice, and I’ll message him to see. I do remember seeing Loki for sale a number of years ago, but I don’t know the current owner (I think).

I’ve also forgotten the name of the individual that originally ordered this set of custom USM Flys—cool concept…and I do love a good hardtail, but I kinda dig the piezo although a Fly that doesn’t need batteries is nice 🙂
