Post by TalM »

Anyone know how many Spanish flys were created?
Could be a cool name to call them Flymenco. hehe?
They are rare as it gets right?

Hi @TalM,

That’s a good question. They certainly weren’t as many made as, for example, the Fly Deluxe, but the exact numbers are not known to us.

Only about three or so come up for sale on Reverb and eBay each year, from varying years, and they often sell in just a few days for near $4k, which is nearly what they sold for new from Parker.

It’s funny you mention the name: Ken wanted to call them the Fly Classic or Fly Classical, but the “Classic” name has already been designated to what we now regard as the Fly Classic. Ken also took issue with the decision to name the guitar the “Spanish Fly” because of the obvious connotations of the term; that’s why that model is called both the Fly Nylon and the Spanish Fly.

Looking for one?
