How much is a PM10 worth?

How much is a PM10 worth?

Mrs. Notes never plays her PM10 since I got her the Dragonfly/Maxxfly so she is thinking of putting it up for sale.

How much are these things worth (low to high depending on condition)???

We have no idea how much to ask. I looked at e-bay and reverb and only saw one on ebay, and I don't know if the asking price is what they go for.

It does have some fret wear, and some pick scratches on the pickup. She is going to clean it up soon, and I'll post some pictures.

Thanks,
Notes

Somewhere between $250-$500 depending.
I keep holding on to my PM24 because its more valuable as a "here, play this" than as something to sell and ship.
The PM10 is a great guitar, precisely because they are cheap. Plus, I've never seen one with truss rod issues.
A PM10 with Gold Evo Frets would make me pick it up more, but add hundreds to the price.

Anyway.

Hope gigs are coming back! They are happening more and more here in the local band scene of SLC & Provo.

Thanks.

I'll let her know.

Mrs. Notes is a "get rid of it if I'm not using it" person, and Mr. Notes is "Keep everything because you'll never know when I'll need it." Fortunately we are so compatible otherwise that we overlook those flaws in our respective personalities. :)

Gigs are coming back, but not until next season for us.

Summers are usually slow. We make 3/4 of our yearly income between election day and tax day (vote 'em in and tax 'em out). The places that we gig in the summer are so hurting that they aren't hiring anyone right now.

Since 1985 I've targeted the senior citizen audience, they've been very good to me. The Seniors are finally getting vaccinated and coming out of retirement, but it's also time for them to go back "up north". So it's a little late for this year. We are getting bookings for the 2021/2022 winter season so it looks like there will be light at the end of this long tunnel.

I think the PM10 is a nice guitar, and was well-built for the price point.

It was our introduction to Parker. Mrs.Notes needed a guitar, and we walked into a SamAsh store. She tried a few brands/models out and liked the PM10. I'm no guitar expert, my main axe is sax, but it looked well built to me. You can't even see the seam where the neck joins the body unless you look closely and in bright light. The pickups sound decent and since she plays rhythm (her main instrument is voice) they are voiced fine for that. She also plays synth so the guitar isn't full time for her.

I was playing an Epiphone Casino at the time. I have a Gibson ES-330 but I decided I didn't want to get it beat up on the road. A year or two later I got a weekly gig on a quay over a salt water lagoon and didn't want the salt air inside a hollow bodied guitar so I started playing an LTD Less Paul (pun intended) that I traded some of the aftermarket Band-in-a-Box software that I write. I put GFS Mean 90 pickups in it and it sounded OK.

Mrs.Notes tells me "You need a better guitar". (Having a guitar playing wife has it's benefits.)

By this time SamAsh was gone so it was Internet order. The Dragonfly had just come out, I liked the build of her Parker and didn't want a heavy guitar so I ordered one. I fell in love with it and the only thing I missed was P90 pickups, so I had them build one with Duncan P-Rail pickups.

She likes my DF better than the PM, it's lighter and balanced well, so we found a used, pristine DF for her, and now she doesn't play the PM anymore. I think the PM hasn't been out of the case in 2 years or so.

That's probably TMI :D

Thanks again, I'll relay the info and if she decides to put it up for sale, I'll post it here first.

I love a good story.
You’re not getting any younger. Thales that Gibson ES-330 and beat it up on every gig you can. I love those guitars. Sell the pm10. Sell it here. In the classified section !

I remember your casino days from the epiphone forum. I think my username was guitar doctor there?

I use the ES-330 at home when I want to just pick up a guitar and play without an amp. It had OK tone for a thin bodied archtop. It's nice to have an acoustic, especially when working out chords for a new song I might be learning.

The Parker DF522NN fits me perfectly, it's balanced, contoured (comfortable), has P-Rail pickups that give me P90, rail, series humbucker & parallel humbucker tones, and it is light. It's a 'Swiss Army" guitar, and it's all I need on the gig. I had it custom-built for me, so it's as perfect as can be.

I also bring my sax, wind synth, flute, and PA so there is no desire to schlep another guitar. I like the NN so well I have no need for another electric, except I do have a DF524NS at home for a backup.

I gave the Casino to Mrs.Notes - but it is more just a ceremony, as we often play each other's guitars. I still frequent the Gibson and Epiphone forums, but mostly for the off-topic 'lounge' to keep up with my buddies.

Mrs.Notes' PM is a nice little guitar. As soon as she cleans it up, I'll post it here.

Right now we're working on a few other things pretty intensely, so it might be a week or so. But you never know, it's not easy to get rid of an old friend.

Hey, give a holler if you do decide to put the PM10 up on the block. I've been looking for one (or a 20 or 20PRO) to round out my collection.
