WTB: pre-refined ribbon cable & output jack, or beater Fly

Post by dayn »

I need a rear ribbon cable and output Jack to repair a friends Pre-refined Fly.

Would also consider buying a beater Fly if it has the electronics I need.

This listing comes to mind:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-Parker-Fl ... Swylpft2TE

Pre-refined guts:

If only it were a trem model, I’d own it already.

I saw that one previously, and contacted the seller, but the amount they want given condition, it being the least desirable Fly model, a bunch of extra holes, etc. is much too high in my book.

How did you get a photo of the guts? I asked for one and they wouldn't take a photo for me.

I've had that one on my feed for a while; the seller says it has fret buzz issues, which, to me, doesn't sound like a Fly project I'm eager to get into right now. ;)

He has a photo of the electronics posted on the eBay listing now.

PM me if you go for it, @dayn because I do want that case and I'll happily throw in some money toward this.

Yeah, I asked about the fret buzz, and if frets were loose, and was told they weren't. But you never know until you have it in hand as not everyone understands what to look for in that regard.

Fret buzz is usually just the truss rod and the bridge need adjusting. Could be the nut too. If the board and the cable and the jack are good it’s worth 1000. But there is that missing chunk of wood...
just plain lost
