Somebody buy this Hardtail so I don’t have to.

Have something Parker-related to sell? Post about it here. Three things you need to know:
1. This area is for Parker Guitars and related accessories only
2. Post a clear asking price
3. This site assumes no responsibility in these transactions

I’ve nearly made this thread a few times. I keep adding Flys to my Reverb cart, deciding to sleep on it, then breathing a $2800 or so sigh of relief each time I wake up and find them sold.

Here too, but only if it’s a solar flare or root beer or tangerine..

And then I just noticed this..

Its perfect, save for this deal breaker. I think this is the one Dayn was after and may have even owned for a bit. I have a stealth that he set up kind of like that and its a perfect modeling solution.

Thank GOODNESS the dip was done poorly - For a moment, I thought this was the fully red/orange/black/yellow-dipped Fly Deluxe you occasionally see posted but never listed. I had it in my cart before going through the photos and breathing a $3k sigh of relief at being mistaken.

I had a cheater wrap on the front of my black ‘96 for a year or two to feel better about not owning one:

Did not know Parker ever offered a dipped paint job.
The ebay listed one is “busy” paint wise and looks poorly done because of that.

I lust after a solar flare though any blue, root beer, or tangerine would be ok but only a little bit more than my gold deluxe.
Or a custom Shazrock paint job would be nice some day if I win lotto, but why?, no Parker finish was ever undesirable and every one I’ve ever seen is excellent.

YouTube dip finish vids are cool to kill a few minutes now and then.

I don’t think they ever did; it looks like that one started its life as a cherry Mojo.

A while back, I was watching a few “guitar dip” videos on Youtube, and my wife was like, “What’s the big deal? Women have been getting their nails done with that same technique for years!”. That comment has inspired me to refinish my Fly with a French tip; whatdayathink?! 😝

Wasn’t there a guy on the old forums that had been dipping his guitars? He had a silver one and they paint-mixy one like this?

Yes. There was a guy who did a black and red dip to die for.

I could live with the paint chip, but the deal breaker for me is the lack of tremolo with crazy original Parker Fly tension adjuster.

Bump. Thank you to whomever bought the ‘99 Artist string up with nylons - I was going to adopt it if it hadn’t sold by the 1st. Unfortunately, that puts the scratched up $1400 Classic with the stuck tone knob on my radar: I see it and go “Ooh! Refinish practice; and I can sell the pre-ref guts to someone who needs it! I’m a saint for wanting to buy another guitar!”

https://reverb.com/item/38396134-parker ... mic-silver

Talked myself out of the final button press to buy this one - It’s in less-than-perfect condition, with no bar or spare springs. I ended up having to tell myself that a Belew is the only Fly model I would pounce on; and that this one’s listed for a grand over its worth, regardless of rarity.

Edit: Wow! Cody in the Facebook group pulled the trigger for $4,100 (after tax)! Seems like just in the past year or two, I saw S2s going for between $1600-2400. Bless him for sparing me the haggle for what would have been the most expensive Fly, yet.

I had similar talks with myself, @mmmguitar! 😂

I’ve always wanted to try a Fly with single coils, however!

I came on here last night to see if anyone commented on this one and decided I don’t need to chime in haha. Can’t believe how fast it went.

I hear ya, @DLQ; I suppose if you’ve been waiting for one to pop up, then you strike as soon as you see it! :D

It’s starting to occur to me that even outside of the Flys, a lot of good stuff goes pretty fast over night while east coasters might be in bed!
