Selling a few flys

Yes, that’s right, you heard right. Apparently, I have too many Flys. I don’t even know how this happened. If you know me and my posts, I really spend too much time & money modding them to see what sounds I can get out of them. I’m going to start with 3 of my favorites, all of which have graphte...

Re: What do you use to clean a DF natural wood guitar?

I have also been told to use gun oil on my maple fretboard & neck. Now I have no idea what gun oil actually is, though

Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread

If I were in the market for a nitefly that one without the back plate would be it. The other one Is one of those weird non-piezo models and is pissing me off already.

Re: Black '96 Deluxe "Guinea Pig"

More and more I find that I want to read about moving from city to city and economics an guitar playing. It makes me think of the old guitar players I knew in the 70s. A lifestyle that US economics has all but destroyed. My favorite line is: “the next time I had ten thousand dollars burning a hole i...

Re: Black '96 Deluxe "Guinea Pig"

That is my kind of post. Lately I’ve felt that I’ve spent too much time tinkering and not enough playing.

This reminds me how much fun it is to test stuff out!

Re: Marc Wants To Buy...

Ha!
That’s the reason I don’t use it enough. Most of what I do requires those 2 octaves.

Plus think you can see from the pictures that you want a fatter neck. Like a 24 fret nitefly neck.

Have you tried a carvin holdsworth neck yet??

Re: Marc Wants To Buy...

I put some pics up in the MIDI fly mods post, but honestly I don't know why I call them that since I really don't MIDI that much.

Re: MIDI Fly Mods

By the way, yes, I love those Roland S1/S2 buttons. Much better than the switch. I understand how much real estate they take up, but I just like them. If any of you end up NOT using your Buttons in favor of a switch, let me know, I’d buy them from you! DF824_3515.jpg DF824_3524.jpg I still haven’t b...

Re: MIDI Fly Mods

controls: DF824 Controls copy.jpg The Piezo & Magnetic tone are both push-pull pots. Piezo has the mid/dark switch and I mostly play with it pulled out. The Mag Tone just makes the Humbucker a single coil and that is mostly how I keep it. The standard Parker Piezo-Both-Mags switch is now a small...

Anyone care to guess or inform on the size these are?

Re: MIDI Fly Mods

Ready for the next one? I know. I am absolutely crazy. This guitar is what I used to replace the Indonesian Floyd and basically why I never modded that. The stock Seymour Duncan Custom 5 (bridge) & 2 Custom Flat pickups are nice and rich-sounding, but for what I do I really like the passive dima...

Re: Marc Wants To Buy...

I would reluctantly sell you my DF842. I haven't gotten as much use out of it as I wanted to. But, honestly, I am freaking broke these days. What kind of price in today's market is fair? You would be the specialist in this area. Mine is converted to 13-pin. Its all graph tech and thought out well. I...
