Re: Gus's Byzantine Fly Mod

Absolutely gorgeous, @Augustonian. How is the sustainer driver performing at that distance from the strings? If you're happy with it, I'll probably deepen the rout of my Belew to allow for it (I pick over the neck pickup; and prefer as much clearance as I can get away with).

Re: Nfv4 bridge mods possible?

jserrins , I did some fast and loose caliper measurements on my way out the door: The official spec width for your “dog bone” iteration saddles (of which I have none on-hand) is 10.5mm. The Graph Tech saddle I measured showed a 10.3mm width. The “USM” iteration saddle I measured was 10.92mm (which ...

Re: Trans Blue '97 Classic

Being as none of my guitars are set up for approximating acoustic stuff, here's a quick demo of some lower fret string buzz comparing the piezo sounds of the RMC PolyDrive, Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic, Variax 1.0 model of a '59 Martin D-28 and, finally, the Roland GR-55's modeled D-28 (which seems to ...

Re: Nfv4 bridge mods possible?

Im guessing the lack of responses is my answer… I had been following your issue since seeing it in the other thread; and was hoping a NiteFly owner with firstand insight would chime in. Are you willing to post photos? Please correct anything I'm getting wrong: *You have a '97 NFV4 with a non-functi...

Re: Replicate Fly piezo electronics

Wow great reply. I contacted Fishman last week and learned my measurement was off. The Powerchip volume pot is actually 20k linear as someone had pointed out in the forum earlier (so much info in here). I had asked the same question about a capacitor recommendation and no one has responded yet. Der...

Re: Replicate Fly piezo electronics

My question is, what size cap do I use on the tone pot for the piezo? My apologies for the delay in replying to this - I emailed Fishman; and am waiting to hear back concerning their prescribed component values. Because I have no firsthand experience with adding a tone control to a Powerchip (in wh...

Re: 2011 Trans Honey Supreme

I'm curious how the pots are fused in the Belew [...] I didn't think those Tocos had enough rod to push. I don’t know how Axel achieved his prototype, but Dennis confirmed that he machined a longer shaft rod to bridge the Tocos switching pot and the DPDT portion of an alpha push-pull. A machined br...

Re: 2011 Trans Honey Supreme

Well, the cheap version would be to get a dual gang push pull, tear it apart, scratch off the channel near a lug, and use that lug and the center as your "switch." You don't get the satisfying click, but it would do the job! I could provide further details if needed. Thanks - That’s almos...

Re: 2011 Trans Honey Supreme

This fly really fits a lot of my own idiosyncrasies, and I've been heavily inspired by it over the course of my own project. Thanks for the compliments. As always, I look forward to seeing more of your own project(s). I think I eacho your sentiment with the tinkering: it just doesn't become my guit...

Taxtime is approaching, so its either one way or the other.
Perhaps I should have waited until after everyone got their refunds. Being as the current top bidder is apparently a collector with 22+ Parkers, I suppose it will come down to whether he's into 13 pin stuff.

Re: P-36 Value and Serial Number Decoder?

Welcome, oldair1968 . Per recently sold listings , it would seem that P-36s have been going for between $450-$1,000 USD, depending on condition. You can reference this in negotiating what you feel is the fairest price with the seller. You seem to already know about the following; so this is moreso f...

Re: FS: '97 Trans Blue Classic MIDI

Good luck with the sale! Thanks. I’m hoping that, with the prices I’ve set, I’ll either confirm depreciation/decreased market demand by losing money, confirm that “upgrades” are equity through breaking even, or profit as a consequence of underestimating demand. Should I get zero bids, I’ll still ha...

Re: Trans Blue '97 Classic

To elaborate upon what I disclaimed in my listing : I spent a while hunting gremlins in the course of trying to determine why the Acousti-Phonic preamp was introducing a mild ground hum into the signal path (fortunately, it's not present when grounding the guitar by actually playing or otherwise tou...

**SOLD** '97 Trans Blue Classic MIDI

This is a bit of an experiment: I have the guitar listed for a one week auction on eBay to better gauge demand; and will update the "What is This Worth?" thread to reflect my findings. Should the guitar not sell on eBay for whatever reason, I'll be updating this post to list it here for a ...

Re: Can you identify this mystery Parker Fly guitar player (circa 1993 - 1996)?

Thank you so much! I'll keep looking for this mystery guitarist. The search for this 'lost' song is growing quite rapidly, so we hope to solve it soon. I wish I could be more helpful. I looked through whatever promotional materials for the brand between '94 and '96 Google turned up; and didn't find...

Re: Replicate Fly piezo electronics

I bought a 250k concentric pot based on the forum's feedback but the Powerchip's vol pot (I discovered last night) was only 10k! Ouch! I dug a Fishman Powerchip board out of my parts box, and found the volume pot to be linear taper ("B"), 20k -rated. Your A10k pot should still work for th...
