Fly nut blanks and "swoop" relief on player side edge

Hi all, I came into some NOS nut blanks apparently direct from Parker as they were closing up. These blanks have flat edges, while on most Flys I have seen a "swoop" (for lack of a better word) relief cut into the player's side edge of the nuts. Anyone know if this design, if present, was ...

Re: Marc Wants To Buy...

I would be curious to know also about the Gen 1 availability; I too thought only the Gen 2 was currently in production and that a new Gen 1 is not attainable. I'd been debating whether or not to try to find a used set (maybe not for 400!). Does anyone know? I suppose I can call DiMarzio and maybe so...

Re: Fly nuts glued in? Material to fill?

Thanks VJ. I do have a low slot. I was wondering what a good material to fill the slot would be before wicking glue, but I suppose I could try ebony dust. I suppose the ca should bond those two materials, but wasn’t sure. Good to know also they should tap out. Was thinking I’d ideally replace the nu...

Fly nuts glued in? Material to fill?

Hi all another one for you, are nuts glued in or is there anything I should know before attempting to remove one?

Also, with this material is there a good fix for a deep nut slot similar to using dental resins with bone?

Thanks!

Do pre-refined "screw saddles" just lift out?

Hi all, Do the "screw saddles" just lift right up when the hex screw is removed, or is there a wire attached to each individual saddle that would need to be clipped? I was referencing the post the pictures and compares all the saddle types, and saw there is a wire on the ballbearing type b...

WTT: Bronze/Concert Fly for Spanish / Nylon Fly. WTB also.

Hi all, I have a newborn at home and a Fly Concert / Bronze has been pretty ideal for playing on during down periods, as it puts out enough sound but is soft enough to not bother the baby. I'm basically a classical player though, so it would be pretty cool to have the nylon version instead. I'd be i...

Sold: 1996 Parker Fly Deluxe Majik Blue Gigbag + Trem bar

Hi all, Offering up for sale a 96 Deluxe in very nice shape. Setup with 9s and a 9 spring. Very clean shape other than two scratches on the back, and a deeper scratch / finish check by the bottom cutaway. Just in case it is a finish split, I did some checking around and thanks again to this forum an...

Re: Balanced String Set/Bridge Issues

Are you using 10s with an 11 spring right now? I learned this on this forum but apparently the springs were tested manually/individually at the factory, and I have had an 11-labeled spring that balanced well with 10s. I suppose it can depend. Are you adjusting the action with the 2 Allen screws in t...

Re: Marc Wants To Buy...

I might have to borrow this idea of finding a beater and getting a yellow fly!

Generally love yellow too, strats and such.

Last I’d heard was $600 and several months’ wait - If anyone’s used Shazrock in the past year or so, hopefully they’ll chime in.
Am I crazy or does that sound really reasonable?

Re: Marc Wants To Buy...

Thank you for the heads-up, @MadMac! It’s a shame the import fees for that beauty are more than the cost of having the original Parker painters refinish one of my beaters in yellow, but I know I’ll still be tempted to pull the trigger on it all week. How much is a refin from the original painters, ...

It’s starting to occur to me that even outside of the Flys, a lot of good stuff goes pretty fast over night while east coasters might be in bed!

Thanks as always VJ! Do you know actually if a “single cut” Parker branded case would also fit a regular fly?

WTB: Fly hard case

Hi all,

Not sure if these also are hot commodities too, but if anyone has a hard case for sale for a fly, I am interested. Thanks!
