Great vid.
Sounds good in solar flare!
Where can I get a Parker illuminated sign?
It’s Friday, we made it through another week.
Cheers!

I need to go to better pawn shops.
I’d refurb a fly if one like this appeared.

Re: Somebody buy this Hardtail so I don’t have to.
Did not know Parker ever offered a dipped paint job. The ebay listed one is “busy” paint wise and looks poorly done because of that. I lust after a solar flare though any blue, root beer, or tangerine would be ok but only a little bit more than my gold deluxe. Or a custom Shazrock paint job would be...

Re: how do you date pdf 70
Carefully! I’ve never dated a PDF70, because her big brother Mojo always scared me.
I usually just played around with her but not since I met her sister, she’s like vintage gold and quite deluxe
Apologies but the subject line made me laugh over early morning coffee.
Cheers to all!

Haha Me: “oooh a Fly Deluxe just came up on Reverb!” Rational Me: “you already have a Fly Deluxe.” Me: “but not in Italian Plum!!” Here too, but only if it’s a solar flare or root beer or tangerine.. And then I just noticed this.. https://reverb.com/item/34807268-parker-custom-fly-2007-tangarine-ro...

Thanks Ken
I really enjoy reading technical stuff and that’s a lot of good info.
During “isolation” from foot surgery in March I got caught up on back issues of scientific American so things like this are right up my alley.
Cheers!

Re: Fly Fret Repair Procedures (Parker Guitars video and document)
After reading this thread I looked up jewelers adhesives. I’ve used them with great results to set stones and secure wire knots. For setting stones and other durable repairs jewelry cyanoacrylates work well for filling small gaps especially slow setting types and some have precision needle applicato...

Re: Hard case recommendation
Nobody expects a Parker to be inside. 8-) “Is that a gun?” V.J. is asked regularly as he boards the Path train to Washington Square Park with his trusty Fly in case. 😑 That is such a cliche’ to think anyone would carry a gun in a guitar or violin case. How dumb do people have to be to think that so...

What ever fits that’s what I say.
I use an old Ibanez Roadstar case I found in mint condition at the thrift store.

Wheresthedug...thanks for the reply. To clarify my last post, I think you got a good deal on your Parker the OP is pricey. Ok here’s my truly Parker guitar nerd moment for today... It would be interesting to see a spread sheet of the various finishes used throughout any particular year. Of course wi...

Re: Fly Deluxe Scratched
To put the logo and serial numbers back on a couple thoughts occurred to me. Originally silk screens were used. Have graphics applied on a heat transfer tape that could then be applied with a warm iron or heat gun. (Probably not cost effective for one or two applications.) Laser printing could be do...

Is there a preferred method to cut pick guard material?

Re: Pre refined classic in Ireland
OOOFT That is a STUNNING Colour!!!!! I'm surprised at the price though. I bought my Gold 97 Deluxe last year in the UK for £1,350 and there were several available around that price at the time. Wheresthedug That price sounds good for the UK. I too own a ‘97 gold deluxe. Its serial number is 217087b...

Re: Interesting Craigslist post for ‘95 Fly
True it is an interesting guitar but “star played” does nothing for the value. Now star owned is entirely different thing, I’ve played Adam Dutkiewicz‘s personal Mojo and it definitely had a specific feel, sound and playability that was well beyond the production models. It’s amazing how much a good...

Interesting Craigslist post for ‘95 Fly
Here’s a ‘95 Fly available in Denver.
Interesting backstory if it’s true.
I have no interest in this other than the fact it’s here in town.
Cheers!
Notice the “low” price!

Re: Model name stamped on headstock
Wanted the silk screen “ Fly” headstock stamp as a small wall hanger keepsake of guitar esoterica but I was too cheap to buy it!
I suppose it would have been cool to use it for a few business cards but knowing silk screens are delicate it probably would have been sketchy using it much.

Re: scratchy piezo ..
For what it’s worth: I’ve been using the D’Addario XL110 strings on all of my Flys for many years and I’ve never encountered an issue; those strings do have the colored ball ends. I like NYXl 9 gauge and don’t seem to have this problem. It seems odd the tailpieces won’t or somehow fail to make cont...

I wonder if painted string ends would cause an insufficient electrical path?
