Re: Why aren't Ken Parker's innovations being used today?
I always wanted to try the non-flagship models, but my preference for 24 frets has long kept my admiration for other Parker SKUs at a distance safer for my wallet. I've been the same way with Godin, ever since they abandoned the Exit 24 and Redline models.

This one being sold out of British Columbia for a relatively hefty amount is the only one that comes to mind. I’ll let you know if I see any others, @DanSchafer.

Re: Why aren't Ken Parker's innovations being used today?
I'm certainly interested. The sandwich construction is similar to Artistides' (theirs includes an injection mold with a substantial rear cavity space) and Ola Strandberg's Varberg body, in which I recall either the production model or a prototype being produced with three wood layers CNC'd with the ...

Re: Springs
Bigpig63 , the most recently produced batch of Fly springs in 9 and 10 gauges made available by Terry Atkins, who headed Parker after Ken sold the brand, are available on Reverb . Are you needing springs in a heavier gauge? Forgive me if I’m speaking out of turn when I say that, as far as I know, t...

Just posting a PSA for anyone considering buying the ‘99 maple Classic (the 90s-era designation for Supremes with less-than-spectacular-looking grain) currently listed on eBay: It’s being sold by the self-described “biggest Parker collector in the world”, following his Reverb account being disabled ...

I'd love to share that process with you guys when I start working on it to see what you think or if you have any suggestions. If I can take any lesson from building the planes, my first attempt at the guitar will be both a disaster and a great learning experience haha. I look forward to seeing such...

Re: Why aren't Ken Parker's innovations being used today?
Long time no see, Dan! Anyone who doesn’t know you should - You’ve always epitomized the need that musicians who play at a high level have for high-performance instruments capable of facilitating whatever needs to be achieved. My curmudgeonly answer is: Building a Fly-like guitar is a tall order whi...

Wowzers. Seeing Ken’s take on Ned’s bridge makes me wonder if a headless Fly would have been even further ahead of its time than the Potato Chip.

Though This seller hasn’t visited the site in nearly two years, there’s an email in their post that you can try contacting them at. Your best bet at the moment may be to solicit in the Parker Guitars or Parker Guitar Owners and Lovers Facebook groups.

Re: The Mythical ‘92 Fly Deluxe
I particularly enjoy the “rare, orange peel finish - only one of its kind” selling point in the description. The texture of the guitars I spraypainted as a teenager was uncommon in the marketplace for a reason.
Update: Seller changed listing to reflect 2002 date.

Howdy, @illicitizen/Eric. Everyone should be able to dig a player who rocks a NiteFly and suspenders.

Trending down. There's decent Deluxe on Reverb now for less than $2500.00 https://reverb.com/item/58330944-parker-fly-deluxe-black-2001 Yep. And it’s being crosslisted by a FB group member; so it can be had for even less. Update: Sold via Reverb on the 26th. Posting this Bronze listing to see how l...

Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread
$1,600 price drop ($2800 to $1200) for a NiteFly Mojo Flame the owner initially listed as a Fly, which led this competing listing to lower its price from $2k to $1400, then to $1300 before the competing listing sold after undercutting it. Update: Listing price was then raised to $1600 - Ostensibly ...

Here’s a beater NiteFly in need of piezo work where the seller is trying to gouge on shipping. if I was to forget about preferring 24 frets and invest in a NiteFly, it would be after haggling this one down to be no more than a grand after all’s said and done (Though I happen to have all the necessa...

Re: Midiaxe connection
I will add though that the GR 33 IS a midi device which can be run by the MIDI Fly. The 5-pin midi in does access the sound module. That’s great! I looked into it, and it seems controllers plugged into the MIDI-In of some older GR units can be routed through the PCM soundbanks. I was under the impr...

Re: Midiaxe connection
I’m just now reading this, as well. The short answer seems to be that the five pin MIDI-out of your guitar is meant to interface with a sequencer-equipped keyboard synth or a DAW interface with its own synth/sequencer plugins; and not a Roland GR unit. If you’re wanting to drive a Roland guitar synt...

Re: Midifly Piezo/Midi issues
@Voxbobby22, are you active on VGuitarForums, at all? If not, I suggest asking there, as well. Unfortunately, there’s been very little knowledge of MIDIFly maintenance and troubleshooting shared in this community - The only unicorn rarer is the Adrian Belew signature Fly.
