Re: Marc Wants To Buy...
I think the price issue is here to stay, and my guess is that it's only going to get worse. @vjmanzo you probably need to update the price estimate you have posted somewhere here brother lol. There are no Flys in excellent conditions under 2k that I'm aware of; and if one comes out, it won't last 5 ...

Re: Weak & Low Volume on Gen1 Bridge Pickup
Well I guess I found what I was looking for. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the bridge pickup, and it won't get any stronger regardless of how many time I pass it through improvised neodymium magnetizer. It will always sound thinner and weaker than that beefy neck pickup, which turns out to ...

Re: Weak & Low Volume on Gen1 Bridge Pickup
Do the Gen1 pickups are marked on the back (where the sticky padding is) with capital letters N or B (assuming for Neck and Bridge). Maybe I'm going crazy but the "weak" bridge pickup has a capital N on the back and the strong neck pickup has a B (lol, could it be that a prior owner swappe...

Re: Weak & Low Volume on Gen1 Bridge Pickup
I pulled out the pickup.I'm trying to magnetize it with neodymium magnets I got from amazon. So far, I would say I'm unlucky, because the pole pieces are still pretty weak compared to the magnetic strength from the neck pickup or even compared with the bridge pickup of my 97 Classic. I may have to p...

Weak & Low Volume on Gen1 Bridge Pickup
I have a mint Deluxe in Red Ruby that has a very low volume on the bridge pickup. I realize this may be less of a Fly question than it is a regular guitar pickup question, but I'm hoping I can get ideas here. My suspicion is the magnet has lost magnetism. If I put an iron-ore type metal on the pole ...

Re: Recommended polish for fly deluxe
You clean the body like you would any other guitar finished in polyurethane. In my view, water alone doesn't do the job. You would use any guitar polish/cleaner like the Dunlop 65. Personally, I add a few drops of rubbing alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol) to the already wet microfiber cloth. The mix o...

Re: Fretboard top fiberglass layer or kindof varnish ?
This Chilean luthier was handed a beaten Fly Deluxe with a delaminated (lifted) fretboard. The owner wanted that fixed and traditional frets put into the fretboard. The whole job was filmed in a series of videos. On this specific episode he talks about polishing the brand new frets and the fretboard...

Parker Fly PPG Paint Codes
I'm new here (Greetings!); just bringing my sugar to barter with you for salt (knowledge is everything; connections get you there). This is a PPG-Paints internal system screenshot that shows some of the most common Parker Guitars paint codes. I confirmed with a PPG representative that they still hav...
