Re: PDF guitars

DC9BF1E8-8B07-4946-93CE-0F6E939DC016.jpeg I I’ve had a PDF 105 and a PDF 70 modded with split coils and ghost tech piezo’s. A 5 designation for the PDF’s is for piezo pick up models. Most people never add the “5” but it does designate the piezo’s so it’s important to be correct (but really at this ...

Gotta love that “French” aesthetic....?

Anyone else notice this for sale? It reminds me that sometimes good intentions should just stay good intentions. https://reverb.com/item/29763206-parker-dasviken-2017-natural-wood Maybe a more computer savvy member could post its pic for posterity...but then again it might be best to let it fade fro...

I like the idea for a fanned fret layout.

Re: Our newest member: Ken Parker

Dear Fly fans, I'm excited to announce the newest member of the Fly Clone forum: @Ken Parker ! As we all know, Ken's work is remarkable and I know that we all share a fondness for the innovative instruments he made at Parker Guitars from its inception until 2003. His current archtops are also incre...

They are workingman's tools, and now that Parkers are no more, I hope they last until I get to the final coda of life.
Ain’t it da truth man!

Thus the need for a CLONE project eh?

Hopefully old Fly’s never die they just sustain away.

Re: Future interest in Parker - up or down?

Somewhat related note: does anyone remember Switch Vibracell guitars? I have one of them (similar concept of injection-molded synthetic material); it’s a good-sounding guitar FWIW, but Switch also went under. It didn’t have high-end finishings, but it also was priced at around $300. I had a vibrace...

Re: Future interest in Parker - up or down?

As with anything FB I suspect any uptick is due to social media contagiousness in the relatively small number of Parker enthusiasts on there. But I’m not on FB either. Even though there are lots of fans now there were obviously never enough people to keep the brand viable. For someone like me that p...

Re: Battery compartment "in body" cover

Added to my original..

Just looking at the modeled part....if you printed the entire battery box (incorporating the 9v flat connectors) you could use a tradition pressure fit double pin and fingernail lock top like back cavity battery boxes are configured and eliminate screws pins etc.?

Re: Battery compartment "in body" cover

I just replaced 9v batteries in a couple emergency flashlights and the connection made me think about the always difficult battery hookup/removal problems inherent with the Fly. I believe they are called PALights. The flashlights have flat spring contacts instead/in place of the traditional 9v plug ...

Re: Battery compartment "in body" cover

Maybe your 3D printed piece could have ribbed tabs fitting into the studs (like nylon rivets in autobody) with a small tab for removal on the top. Make it all pressure fit and carry spares. I put a loop of scotch tape on the battery and leave it folded under the cap for easier removal. Run tape up b...

Re: Is this forum for all Parker electrics, or just Flys?

Hola! Off topic briefly The liner fix is the most value for the money but it is way pricey. Yeah I hate plumbing problems, I doled out 10000 for a 30 foot sewer repair under my garage, then had to pay a “repaired sewer” tap fee because of “increased volume” $3700! Back on topic maybe? Schlepping any...

Re: Is this forum for all Parker electrics, or just Flys?

Re: Official Parker Guitars Website and Forum

Sadly, I’ve confirmed that the old forum is, in fact, completely lost. A quote from my personal contact at USM who asked me to express their regret in the outcome: JAM was sold last year and security updates were required throughout the company which included all websites and associated forums. The...

Hey @Mr303! Glad to see you here; numbered among the miscreants! :P Yes, @Big Swifty is here; personally: I think he needs his own dedicated sub-forum just for tales of gigging... This forum has a messaging system that seems to be reliable, so you can message him that way, I believe. The forum also...

Hi everybody!
Glad to check in here and see VJ’s fine work is being infiltrated by miscreants and musicians.
Anyone have email for Big Swifty? I always liked his perspective and tales of gigging.
It’s Friday...made it through the week!
