Re: Something goes wrong during big bends (B and E strings)
Still bet it's the way the plug sits in the body of the guitar - as per my post above.

Re: Fly partially detached fret(s) issue
@Patzag, @billy : thank you both! I think after this "half failure" I've gained a bit of confidence. I'll let it rest for a while and (when I gather the courage :D) eventually do as you suggest. cheers Andrea Good for you! It's not half as hard as it's made to look. Let us know how you ma...

Re: Fly partially detached fret(s) issue
hi all, i promised to report how the partially lifted fret repair job would end up ... and now I will, since couple of hourse ago I decided I had the (few) tools I thought I'd need and ... the courage to attempt ... my tools were mainly the zap glue suggested by vj, a cutter, a clamp, a 10 radius f...

Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread
I’m curious how all those cosmetics play out (esp if it has a homemade paint job ); aside from the aesthetics as an indicator of how the guitar may have been treated, what is the discount on a thrashed but fundamentally/structurally sound fly? Big presumption that the guitar IS in good functional/p...

Re: Fly weight?
Sure. But don't discount the knobs and other small things. KP worked on every little bit, and every little bit added to another little bit adds up to a significant change in weight. It's not just one thing. If you want to have fun, pull all the knobs on your mojo and weigh them and compare to all th...

Re: Fly weight?
I have weighed 3 Fly guitars in total (with two different scales, the differences was +- 50gr). My '95 Fly Deluxe weighs 2365gr (with the tremolo arm which weighs 38gr). My '98 Fly Classic weighs 2475gr (with the tremolo arm). My friends '07 Mojo weighs 2.9Kg (again, with the tremolo arm). I think ...

Re: Fly “Tulipwood” Deluxe on Reverb
Poplar isn’t winning any beauty contest in the "#1 - @10 Top” race mostly because of the delta between the greenish heartwood and the off-white, dirty cream almost color of the sapwood. The size of the trees being harvested in our time makes it nearly unavoidable that boards meeting our width ...

Re: Replicate Fly piezo electronics
Just ordered one and thanks for the info! Just got my first Fly and the output jack is so loose I can't play it. Thought I'd just bend the barbs in a bit until I opened up the back. :-) Now the "loose plug" syndrome is often due to the jack not sticking out enough. You have to open the ba...

Re: Something goes wrong during big bends (B and E strings)
Hey Nick. Sounds like a burr in the saddle. Remove the string and check it with a magnifying glass. Possibly the result of some mishandling. Options: 1. Carefully polish the groove of the saddle. 2. Find a spare saddle to replace it. 3. Send me the guitar. Edit: You might want to swap saddles ...

Nitefly For Sale
Hi. I just can't deal with single coils so I'm parting ways with a Nitefly. Thanks to a benefactor, it has a neck with a functioning truss rod! So the action is nice and lowish. Maybe a pro can get an even better setup, I'm not that guy! 😃 It's missing the spring cover plate. Otherwise it is ding fr...

Re: High E and B String Jump off Bridge When Dive-bombing
EDITED: So, to shift the bridge towards the treble side: loosen and remove the strings completely, loosen the spring tension, loosen and remove the saddles, shift the bridge to the treble side, then re-assemble and test? No. You do not need to loosen the saddles. Loosening the strings until slack s...
