Re: STILL THE ONE!
Hi! My best effort: is using a mono plug with the red button "IN" a valid use case? Very much. I use this ALL the time. Can I assume the MV is global and always controls the guitar output in all cases: Mag or Piezo, Mag and Piezo (3 way switch in any position), Mono or Stereo plug, Red but...

I am inserting hear the picture of the fretboard lifting as this was inquired about earlier as to what it looks like.

Re: I want a PM-20 but I don't know if it's worth it
I have a PM 20. I think its a great guitar. It has no real similarity with a Parker Fly or Nitefly except that it has almost no heel. But it is a very traditional guitar. Like a slightly smaller, much lighter and more comfortable Les Paul. Still, I like it. It would benefit from a good setup and sta...

Re: Strings - I tried NYXL and was disappointed
They feel a tad stiffer, and they have that "piano string" kind of bell-like tone. Love them.
Definitely not on the cheap side. I'm still on my first set, so I will decide, when they "expire" if they last long enough to be financially viable to use.
I hope so.

Re: Strings - I tried NYXL and was disappointed
I'm going to continue this thread because this is where my search started, but it took a turn recently: I got a couple of packs of Stringjoy strings. .095-46. And oh my! Surprised! They sound awesome, feel great and I fell in love. Perfectly matched to the Parker Fly in my opinion. Can't recommend e...

Re: Increasing neck thickness in refinishing?
There may yet be a more appropriate subforum for this topic (the trash? ). Though my Flys are a joy to play, I find my thicker-necked guitars more comfortable. Being as I have a refinishing project coming up, I'm considering an experiment which may cause some to clutch their pearls: Cutting a...

There's never an appropriate response to such an announcement.
Thanks for taking the time and caring enough to check on Gary, Marc.

Re: STILL THE ONE!
Hi.
What I don’t understand is why are we assuming pots and switches are OK?
I have a spare preamp. I keep it as a spare but I’m not unwilling to sell it if it helps a fellow Flyer.
But I would not assume anything. Test and test again. To me, the preamp is the least likely offender.

Re: STILL THE ONE!
I've been consulting with my local guitar/amp tech. He found 2 broken wires in flexible PCB that he says only affect piezo tone control. Hmmm, maybe, maybe not. Also, if the PCB is broken, there's no telling what else has been damaged. PCBs don't break by themselves. I would test the switch first, ...

Re: Parker Fly Deluxe vs Mojo
The fingerboard lifts up slightly. This results in "high frets" which are not really high. The whole fretboard is high. Look at the seam between the neck and the fretboard. It should be very clean with no sign of separation between the board and the neck. OK, so it will be visible along t...

Re: Parker Fly battery
I would suspect that the jack switch which senses a plug inserted is defective. To check this, check continuity on the battery connector with and without an instrument cable connected. You might have to repair/replace the input jack.

Re: String tension during dive bomb
One thing I would suggest is that after you have installed your strings, you push down on the string just north of the saddle. The G string is stiffer than the E and B strings, and therefore will retain some elasticity at the saddle break. If you push down on it, the string will break in a little be...
