Re: Piezo Pickup Not Producing Sound - Troubleshooting Help?
Hi no doz , and welcome! It sounds like something is wrong with the Fishman NiteMix pre-amp inside of the guitar. If you look inside, you’ll see that the piezo elements under the saddles connect to a summing board under the bridge and then the signal connects to the preamp. It’s less likely that the...

Re: Fly pre-refined concentric piezo knob
https://www.bestbassgear.com/bartolini-black-plastic-concentric-stacked-knob-set.htm The bottom part is not the same as the one on our Flys, but, together, I think they’re spot on. This particular link seems to have those knobs backordered, but I’ve put in an order right now regardless, and I’ll co...

Re: PM24 Pro
Am I correct in thinking this is a poor mans Mojo? Meaning a poor man's "Mojo Singlecut"? I'm not very familiar with these models, but this looks like the Mojo Singlecut without all of the composite material treatments. I seem to recall jb63 saying a while back that these were pretty rock...

Re: Springs
Terrific, @7 Dying Trees; welcome! Congrats on your Fly!
I believe Mike G. may have some new springs coming in made to the same specs they were using during the USM days, so I’d keep an on his inventory as well if that’s of interest.

Re: NiteFly NiteMix External Fishman Piezo Preamp
Don’t forget the Fishman Powerblend pedal, a much larger version with a built in volume pedal for the piezo, xlr and 1/4” output for the piezo plus a few more features. I sold off my Nitemix when I got a Powerblend. That’s great, DavidE ! I didn’t know about the Powerblend pedal! Looks like it does...

Could have been a slide player. Maybe ask the previous owner (if that’s who sold it to you)?

Re: Crazy high action in nitefly
there is a slow cycling sound on like when you tune a string to another when its slightly out of phase. It's as if there's a slight tremolo effect that that becomes more pronounced the higher up on a string you play. It happens without being plugged in. WTF?? That could be a weird resonance caused ...

Re: Crazy high action in nitefly
If there’s no 9volt cavity on the back of that NiteFly, it’s like an NFVM1 or 2, which had a passive piezo system. There’s a thread here with some options.

Re: Crazy high action in nitefly
No problem! A Parker can be plek’d, but a Fly and NiteFly is much less likely to need fretwork because the fretwire is made from actual shards of Wolverine’s claws, so it’s super tough and not likely to wear out. The process of getting the frets on the composite fretboard is insanely complicated and...

Re: Crazy high action in nitefly
Okay that’s great news! Maybe loosen a string or two on the bass side and compare the nut slot depth to the new nuts you bought from Mike G?

Re: Crazy high action in nitefly
Yeah, the bridge is definitely super lower than you’d want; hard to tell with the nut. How does it compare to your Fly? In particular, can you take a look to see if the nut slots are cut improperly; the Fly nuts in Wilmington were all (except the white ones) cut on a clicker press machine that Ken m...

Re: Crazy high action in nitefly
Hey InsideInfo , That’s sad news! I’ve encountered this issue before, however, and Ken has described a fix here that may help; the section I’m referring to describes loosening the truss, bending the neck back and clamping it for a few days, and then tightening the truss. Not for the squeamish, but m...
