Re: My custom DF is 10 years old now!!!

Thanks for the kind words about my guitar. Terrific guitar, Notes. As scary as it is, I often daydream of mounting P rails with triple shot rings on one of my pre-refined Flys. I plan to get that out of my system with one of my Steinbergers, instead. I had the Parker factory do it. I suppose I coul...

Re: What replacement parts would be highest on your list to buy?

I've lost a switch already. I replaced it with a toggle I got on Amazon. Direct replacements would be nice though. Probably the whammy bar bushing will be the part that wears out first that can't be found elsewhere. (I refuse to call it trem, when it is really vibrato and not tremolo, but that's bec...

My custom DF is 10 years old now!!!

I can't believe it. Time flies when you are having fun. It's still my new guitar, I'm still delighted to play it, and it's still everything I need in an electric guitar. DF522NN model (NN for Notes Norton). Regular USA Dragonfly/Maxxfly but with 2 Duncan P-Rail pickups giving me 4 sounds P-90 (my ab...

Re: Keeping that Parker looking "fly"

All my instruments, guitars, saxes, synths, flutes, are tools. I keep them in good working order and nice enough so they don't look neglected, but if they have wear and tear on them, it's just mojo. I use my tools to make a living (or did before COVID and hope to resume after).

Re: Love this site!

Between my wife and I (she plays guitar too) we have 4 flies. 3 Maxxflies and one PM10.

The worst thing about my custom shop DF is I no longer have GAS. I can look at other beautiful guitars and appreciate the looks, but I don't want to buy.

That's a good thing. Every fly needs a good home.

Re: Am I the only one?

The bad thing about it is after getting the custom build, I no longer have GAS for another guitar. I can appreciate the beauty of a different guitar, but have no desire to play one. Well geez—what more can you say about a guitar than that!? Parker Guitars could have put that quote in their catalog!...

Re: Am I the only one?

I've never owned a "real" Fly, only Dragonfly/Maxxfly guitars. I bought the first one with regular 'fat strat' pickup configuration. I loved everything about it but the sound. Not that the sound is bad, it's exactly what it's supposed to be, but after a few years of playing nothing but P90...

Re: Is this forum for all Parker electrics, or just Flys?

Our last gig was March 17, 2020. Our winter tourist season is usually booked solid by now, and we've got nothing - zip - nada - zilch. The governor just opened bars at half capacity, which means not enough people to afford a band. A lot of clubs are doing open mic nights, musicians playing for a bee...

Re: Battery "door" Cover

Thanks, and thanks for the link. I'm purchasing it right now. I don't mind playing the guitar with the door off, but it looks much more professional to not expose the 'innards' - and someday when this COVID thing is over, I'll be back gigging in yacht clubs where looks are as important as the music....

I know as soon as I buy a replacement, the old one will show up :D

But then I'll have a spare.

Battery "door" Cover

Hi y'all.

I misplaced the "door" on the battery compartment to my DF. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Thanks,

Re: Hard case recommendation

Haha absolutely! Love that movie! Actually, regarding cases for the NiteFly, that reminds me: you can actually find gun cases in a variety of sizes and styles for not a lot of money. I was looking for a guitar case for a lap steel and ended up buying a gun case and cutting out some of the foam. I b...

That might be me :D

We're out of gigs since St. Patrick's day and probably for at least a year due to COVID so this is the time to try something.

Thanks again,
