Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread

Jeff Beck's Fly sold for about $4,000 USD hammer price, but that's before the 26%+ in fees they charge. Do you have a link for this listing? Edit: you already shared it :) https://auctions.gardinerhoulgate.co.uk/catalogue/lot/938f388a2848634f231f8d9bc08ace41/63b778f7668dabe928d3800924a99077/the-gui...

Re: What music are you listening to?

I listened to Buckethead almost exclusively for years, starting in 8th grade, but have fallen off in recent years. He is probably the most prolific recording musician of all times…

Re: Parker Fly Deluxe vs Mojo

Why do you prefer it? There are a few reasons I feel this way—my opinion, of course, but the primary reason for me is that the hex design seems to have few design advantages: it comes into contact with more of the bushing so that when you move the arm, pressure is more evenly distributed on the bus...

I actually replaced the rounded bushing arm on my refined with a spare hex bushing because of how much I prefer the hex bushing/arm. 😀

Re: Parker Fly Deluxe vs Mojo

One aspect that I think is better on the refined is the tremolo arm and insert. Both of my Deluxes have a slight bit of play betwixt the arm and the hex insert — and I think the rounded arm has a more refined look and feel ;)

Re: Replacing nut

Will the nut that I have “just fit” onto my Mojo?

Update on original issue on ‘98 - I added some more relief (it was too tight) and everything is perfect, no need to swap nut.

Re: Parker Fly Deluxe vs Mojo

My ‘11 had the fretboard delamination issue, but I had it repaired at iGuitar Workshop ( vjmanzo recommendation) for an extremely reasonable amount. Like others said, the Mojo’s tone is definitely deeper/darker than the Deluxe. In my opinion, the build quality of the pre-refined is better and they f...

Re: String tension during dive bomb

With the divebomb tuning, I was seeing low E, G, and B a quarter-step sharp after each dive bomb, but after a number of detunings of those strings with dives, they were all in harmony.

Re: String tension during dive bomb

Thanks guys! @mmmguitar that was extremely informative. Ok, good to know. The guide mentions that dive bombing betwixt tuning gets rid of ‘slack’ - wasn’t sure if that was implying that no strings should become slack.

Anyway, that dive-bomb tuning strategy is extremely helpful.

String tension during dive bomb

I recently re-tensioned my Mojo’s spring and followed two of the guides on the forum. While using the dive-bomb, tune, dive-bomb method, I noticed that some strings remain taut, while others become completely slack. After some diligence, I got the guitar nicely balanced, however there is still a dif...

There are two videos - the other shows me moving the bridge when strings were off. Could you look at that one too and let me know if it indicates an issue?

Re: Leaning Post

Just did a full reset of vibrato and tuning is good. I believe that the actual issue was that the spring was not tightened enough. I had been able to bend up with vibrato, even when in down-only. This was the causing tuning issues when using vibrato, as tension was not correctly returning to the ‘ho...

Leaning Post

I had been posting on the FAQ post, but moving here as this may get lengthy. Context: Discovered that my Mojo’s bridge was able to be manually moved on the bass side (with strings off). Was, also, having some tuning stability/intonation issues. I ordered stabilizer rings and I disassembled the Mojo ...

Re: The Fly Leaning Bridge Posts Issue

I contacted gman on reverb about stabilizer rings, but he doesn’t think he has any - are there any known sources for them?

Edit: gman saved the day, looked through boxes and found 3 rings.
