I think I remember you selling that one a few years back, @dayn; was it emerald green?

Re: Hello from Spain! Can you help me?(Solved!)
Happy to help, Slapguitar ! Interestingly, if a pickup is too close to the strings, the magnets will actually pull on the strings while they’re moving, which is not something you want. There’s also a proximity effect whereby higher frequencies are much louder than the bass frequencies, so lowering t...

Re: Hello from Spain! Can you help me?(Solved!)
Hi Slapguitar , Great questions and thanks for the context about your playing style. I feel strongly that the most significant timbre change you can make to the Fly or NiteFly is to change the strings to a different brand, material, and/or gauge. The manual suggests D’Addario strings as that’s what ...

Re: New User- Looking for solutions
Understood and since your flex PCB is probably okay, I suppose the easiest thing to test/swap is that second toggle switch. If it were me, I’d start with that.

Re: Fly piezo just stopped :-(
That’s a good point, Marc! Thanks for pointing that out!
I never really missed the master volume or piezo tone on my refined Flys enough to pursue implementing what you’re suggesting, but it does seem feasible.

Re: New User- Looking for solutions
Thanks for this image. No, the LED on the Fishman just blinks once when you plug it in, but will stay lit when the battery is dying. If you’re hearing the mags then the preamp is most likely working just fine, and what’s not working is just the piezo. A little difficult to diagnose this, and I’m not...

Re: Parker Fly Deluxe Soft Case Recommendations
Happy to help, Symbolic3001 ! Yes, I've heard that the SKB universal cases do fit the Flys! I've never owned one myself, so if you end up getting one, please let us know what you think! FWIW those Hiscox cases are the most streamlined of all the "official" Parker Guitars cases, but they're...

Re: New User- Looking for solutions
Understood--okay, so if the Fishman preamp is lighting up and you're getting signal to pass through, that's a good sign that the preamp is working. If I had to bet, I'd bet that there's something wrong with either the jack or the pot, but my money's on the jack. Can you take a look inside and see if...

Re: New User- Looking for solutions
Thanks RMCasey ; are you sure you have the red button in the correct position for the cable you're using? The red button switches between split signals (piezo on ring and mags on tip) if you're using a TRS cable; if you're using a standard instrument cable, you want that button pushed in so the sign...

Re: New User- Looking for solutions
Hi Ryan! Welcome! We can absolutely try to help. I’d recommend putting on a pot of coffee and reading through the FAQ page (as you suggested) and then beginning to look at the wiring guides for your Fly. There are only a handful of things that could be wrong, and the most common culprit is that some...

Re: Parker Fly Deluxe Soft Case Recommendations
Hi Canberk! The original Fly shipped in a Levey’s gig bag that had very little padding, then a Levey’s gig bag with more padding (the black one you commonly see), and then the hardshell cases were introduced. There’s nothing special about the original gig bag’s per se except that they fit the Fly li...

Re: Fly Bass (FB-4) History and Manual
Thought so! I’ve been looking at that one for a few years, and I have no idea what the true story is, but it was either brought over from Wilmington or built in Mundelein; Parker Guitars moved in 2004 and the owner ordered it in 2005. I have heard reports from former USM/Parker employees that guitar...

Re: Fly Bass (FB-4) History and Manual
Hi @DLQ--do you own that bass? If it is indeed an FB-4 from that year, it could have been partially built in Wilmington and finished in Mundelein.
Are you by any chance referring to the sunburst FB-4 on Reverb?
