The Three-ridge Spring Plate and How the Vibrato Feels
Interesting regarding the spring's position on the three-ridge spring plate. I figured this was related more to the tension on the spring than the feel. Though admittedly I haven't searched much on this topic, I did do a little looking around for more info related to this and struck out. With this ...

Removing a Vibrato Arm Bushing (refined Fly)
I've had success removing a vibrato arm bushing with a roll pin punch set like this . Screen Shot 2023-09-07 at 5.30.01 PM.png The idea is that you'd put one of these punches on the underside of the bushing (accessible on the back of the Fly) and then lightly hammer the punch to push the bushing out...

Seating the Bridge into the Posts
Very helpful animation, mmmguitar ! I’ve tagged this thread and your terrific post above for reference. 🙏 VibratoBridge I noticed that there's no battery LED on the PCB. I see only two small bare contacts where the LED would be supposed to be. I don’t have this replacement part in my records, but pe...

Play in trem arm bushing
the issue seems to be that the bushing, itself, is a bit loose. Gotcha—you may know that the hex bushing has two parts: the top part where the arm inserts and a small threaded part that screws on at the bottom. If you look at the backside of your Fly, you’ll see a hole cut out that allows you to lo...

Loose vibrato arm
The bottom part of the pre-refined bushing is a threaded part the screws onto the larger part; make sure it’s tight on the larger part of the bushing, maybe? You’d have to turn it.

Bridge bushings slipping out of body
Hey igor , Marc, and everyone reading this: I’ve pinged Ken Parker on this issue and asked him to write something in Ken’s Corner . I’ll be speaking with him this Friday and I’ll mention this issue again if he hasn’t responded by then. 👍🏻 I know that the NiteFly bridge bushings are glued in, so, if ...

Three-ridge plate not touching step-stop
Physically, if the angle between the trem and the perpendicular plate where the three-ridge spring plate screws into, is 90 degrees, and the trem’s pivoting point has not moved, then regardless of spring’s health or how the guitar is tuned, the three-ridge plate should always touch the step-stop wh...

How much can you pull up in full floating vibrato?
It kinda depends on the string gauge you’re using and the angle of the spring, but you definitely don’t get the same range as, for example, on a Steinberger (in my experience).

String gauges and balanced tension sets

Hey everyone, In case anyone has similar interests in doing this, I got around to blocking the bridge of two of my Flys: bridgeblock.jpg It's an easy swap for the spring; just looses the wheel, pop the spring, and put this in. Here are the dimensions of the wood block: wooden-bridge-block.jpg And, i...
