Sloppy Paintwork
Dangerous for the guitar or dangerous for the human? Ken did develop an intolerance to cedar (which is why there are only three cedar Fly Artists from his era), but I believe what he’s referring to here is how the paint shop had the potential to mask their craftsmanship. Chrome vinyl wrap skin for a Fly
That is very helpful info, Marc—thanks. I’ve considered doing this a few times and wondered if it would ultimately be something I’d undo for some reason.

Finish is hazy or cloudy
Unfortunately, I think @mmmguitar’s assessment is spot on.
I would take it to a professional if you’d prefer not to live with that milky color. Is it that bad? It looks almost “relic’d” in the photo

Re: Painting a Parker Fly
I have some beater Flys I intend to refinish... I do love a good restoration thread! :o Here is a link to the Parker Fly Waterslide template as prepared by TheGrail . I'm not sure how relevant this info will be, but, for reference, here are some of the PPG paint colors used on some Flys: PPG Fleet ...

Fly finish is scratched
Hi mmmguitar ; I spoke with Sharon this past summer about some work; she’s busy, but was definitely willing to take on the work. I’ve never personally worked without Marty Bell, but my brother had a bass finished by him and it looks incredible. I seem to recall that he was willing to work on Flys. h...

Some Fly model names are stamped on the headstock
FYI—I spoke with Ken Parker earlier today and, in passing, asked about the “label” differences on the Classic through the years, and he said “I have no idea”. To me, it sounds like an idea that was championed more so by the marketing team at Parker Guitars during those early years than by Ken ...
