Re: Piezo users…

Honestly, 99.9% of the time I use the piezo mixed with the mags (piezo EQ set fully counter-clockwise so minimum treble), it gives the sound a little boost and more body. A week ago I received a Y cable for my Flys. I don't gig but I will start recording in a week or so. When I want to use the mag+p...

Re: **Help identifying heirloom Parker**

Welcome aboard @OliverBaage !

Yes, that seems to be a 1997 Deluxe according to this: viewtopic.php?t=63

BP = Basswood/Poplar (neck/body) and that makes it a Deluxe Fly.

Enjoy your beauty!

Re: Most trouble-free solution (tracking-wise) for guitar synth?

This just came in guys... viber_image_2024-03-01_15-19-52-692.jpg I need to charge it, fiddled with it a little bit, piano VST, there are things indeed I can do with the Instrument 1 that can't be done with the Gk5/GM800 (not by me anyway). There are plenty of settings I will have to spend some time...

ΟΚ, I checked with my luthier, he used cyanoacrylate glue indeed.

Re: Fly partially detached fret(s) issue

That’s not normal. Must’ve been using an Epoxy or some other incorrect glue. My repair with Cyanoacrylate is still holding strong. I don't know Pat, the thing is that so far only one out of 3 or 4 in total got detached...the rest seem fine...well at least right now... I provided him with all the ne...

Re: Fly partially detached fret(s) issue

Well @nuovonormale , I have already notified my luthier that one of the (how many were they back then, 3? 4?) problematic frets got partially detached again, so he will glue it back...again...

This one lasted 9 months, lol...the rest of seem OK...well. for now...

mmmguitar wow, your reply is PRICELESS, thank you so much for your time! All valid points, and don't get me started on the pup rabbit hole, been there, done that a "few" times. Now, some extra infos on my side. I've been playing strictly with Fractal gear since 2011 when I sold every sing...

I forgot, question...

For my strats, I should go for the F-spaced ones, right?

I love the sound of my Flys so much, I want to mod my strats...

OK, here''s the deal... I spent almost 30 years playing strictly low output SSS strats. I used to love that sound, I recorded a buttload of tracks until one day, late 2019, something was just wrong...I started experimenting with single coil sized humbuckers, and I found my sonic nirvana after I went...

Re: Fly partially detached fret(s) issue

Did any of you ever experience this "partial detach" issue (as opposed to a "full" fret falling out issue)? If so, do you think the only way is to completely remove those frets and re-glue them? Or there might be some other, lighter way to fix it? Happened to me a week after I b...

Re: Most trouble-free solution (tracking-wise) for guitar synth?

Wow guys, thank you so much for your insight! mmmguitar I agree...the moment Elentric suggested the TriplePlay, I knew that chances were there wasn't anything "better" in terms of tracking...honestly, I think for the time being I'll stick with the GK5 while at the same time I'll be looking...

Re: Most trouble-free solution (tracking-wise) for guitar synth?

mmmguitar I wouldn't say I am active, I am a member there and I made a thread just to get some opinions. Tripleplay was suggested but I don't think I'll go that route. jb63 I am with you brother, but as I wrote, this is not my first rodeo. No, I am not the cleanest guitar player in the world (on th...

Re: Most trouble-free solution (tracking-wise) for guitar synth?

Tried Jam? https://www.jamorigin.com/ Yes, recently, not for me (a few years back I had also tried their Midi Guitar V1 and the Bass equivalent). But I am looking for a hardware approach, I don;t want to depend on PCs, VSTs, software etc. You know, grab the guitar, fire up some gizmo (GM800 in my c...

Most trouble-free solution (tracking-wise) for guitar synth?

Hi, I am looking for the most trouble-free/best tracking solution for guitar synth. I've owned the GK3/GR20 twice in my life, I've dealt with several tracking issues (and glitches, dying mice sounds and the such), spent a lot of time setting the GK3 on four different guitars with different setups. I...

Re: 2001 Fly Supreme

Now, after busying myself with my long-almost-forgotten guitar, I find the thought to part with it .... difficult. It is a one-of-a-kind axe. Hm. My other great guitar is a LP Goltop 57 darkback Reissue Custom Art and Historic, also from 2001. This one, while being the guitar that I always fancied ...

And of coutse to us, EU citizens, buying from the US or UK is kinda suicidal in terms of customs fees etc.

Re: 2001 Fly Supreme

I cannot for the love of my heart understand why anyone would rather use the dull and boring (and honestly, ugly) black original knobs. Or the quite useless tone pot, which simply muffles the sound.... Well, not to argue, but to me the knobs are, well, just knobs, as long as they are doing their jo...
