Re: I don't post much here anymore
Thanks. I got lucky.
My wife, who I met when we were in different bands, have had this duo going since 1985. The only time we were out of work was during the pandemic lockdown.

I don't post much here anymore
I don't post much here anymore. Why? There really isn't much to say. I'm gigging 20 to 24 one-nighters per month, most of them outdoors, 3 days a week right near the ocean, and my Parker DF guitars are just extremely reliable. A little DeOxit keeps the jack/plug clean, and they stay in tune well. Wh...

That's where I'm at. It doesn't get it all, but definitely a 95% improvement.

Re: What do you use to clean a DF natural wood guitar?
I think I'm just going to get some cleaner from StewMac. I can chat with a tech there and he/she should know what's best. Being predominantly a sax player (guitar is my 7th instrument) I know how to care for the sax, and I completely forgot about StewMac until a friend mentioned it. Playing outdoors...

Guitar is my 7th instrument, so in many ways, I'm still a newbie on it.

Naphtha sounds pretty extreme, but I'll see if they carry it around here.

What do you use to clean a DF natural wood guitar?
I have a 3 day per week, outdoor gig, on the beach but under cover, in the daytime. Since it's hot in Florida, and I do some perspiring, the guitar is getting dirty. The combination of my skin oil and the dust in the air is especially showing where my right arm rests on the body. What do I clean it ...

Re: Hello from Canada
Welcome. I've been to Canada many times, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador, Ontario, Quebec, and Yukon. I've always enjoyed myself there and the Canadian people. I've heard some excellent music, too. I have a couple of Parker Dragonfly/Maxxfly guitars. Guitar is my 7th instrument, a...

Re: Broken plastic where vibrato inserts into the tail.
I haven't been here much either.
We're doing from 15-20 gigs per month, and learning new requested songs. I make my own backing tracks from scratch, so it takes a lot of time to crank out a new song and get it right.
But I check in every once in a while.

I don't have the manual, but here is the way I understand it.
The 5 way switch is configured like a strat:
Neck / neck+mid / mid / mid+bridge / bridge
Second toggle switch:
Mag / mag+piezo / piezo
Potentiometers
Mag volume / mag tone / piezo volume

Re: Stupid question about Dragonfly/Maxxfly tuners
Ron @ Sperzel answered quickly, and I'm going to get 2 sets of nickel plated Sperzels. The tuners themselves are fine, it's just the nut and washer that got rusty. And I don't blame Sperzel for that. I'm playing outdoors, oceanside, 3 days a week, and there is salt spray in the air. We're under a ca...

Re: Stupid question about Dragonfly/Maxxfly tuners
Quick shipment isn't necessary, since they are functional. I just want to get the finish that is the least affected by salt air. I've had this gig a few months now, and it looks like I'm going to be here as long as it's owned by the present owners. We started with one day, and now 3. Most of the oth...

I don't think they are graduated. I'll double-check. And contact Ron @ Sperzel directly.
Double-checked, definitely look all the same height.
So it wasn't such a stupid question after all. (Whew!)

Stupid question about Dragonfly/Maxxfly tuners
My DF and my wife's DF tuners are getting rusty. We play three times a week outdoors, under an awning, but on the beach, a few hundred feet from the high tide line. So I'm thinking of replacing the black tuners with chrome, as they seem to be more rust resistant. (???) Before spending around $300 fo...

Re: What music are you listening to?
We attended that concert. When we decided to go to Prague and the Czech Republic, we checked the Czech Philharmonic's schedule and wound our vacation around that concert. We also heard the Prague Symphony and Dvorak's Rusalka, put on by the Prague State Opera. Right now I'm listening to some Eva Cas...
