Re: Midiaxe connection
I will add though that the GR 33 IS a midi device which can be run by the MIDI Fly. The 5-pin midi in does access the sound module. What was mainly wrong in the set up is that the GR 33 did not have an audio output connected. Simply removing the midi out and adding a 1/4” out to the amp would result...

Re: Midiaxe connection
Hi.
First of all the midi output of your Roland GR unit should not go into the Hughes and Kettner. The midi in on your amplifier has only the purpose of switching settings, not generating sound.
The audio out of the GR goes into the amplifier input in the front panel.

Re: GK-3 mount on Pre-refined
Ok. I’m going to be the odd guy here. I used hot glue. I found it to be safe. It did not cause any issue with the finish and kept my GK3 pick up in place for a long time before I bumped it off. I might or might not recommend this today, but at the time I did not consider the long term effects to the...

Re: Need help identifying my new Fly
Hey FlyFan.
Welcome to the forum.
I drooled over this guitar for weeks while it was listed and prayed that the price would not escalade beyond my means.
Congratulations on your purchase. I am sincerely jealous!!!
What I am happy about is that you want to play it.
Enjoy and make beautiful music!

Re: Axe FX
I heard that the forthcoming Apple Axe FX will be 1/2” thick, have one large wheel on the top (inaccessible when the unit is in a rack), and include a set of proprietary 1/4” and XLR dongles. 👀 🤪 You forgot that it will have a camera on the back - albeit with a large bump that does not allow the un...

Re: Axe FX
I find the UI very simple and quite straightforward. But then again, I'm older than the iPhone! Lol! Yes, I don't think that there is much more to be done in terms of sound quality. Every FOH guy I've dealt with has been very happy with my tones and leave the EQ on the board flat. I think that's a c...

Re: Axe FX
Ha. That makes sense now. I am an AxeFX convert. Been using it since 2011. Started with the first iteration of the II and I'm now on the III Mark 2. I also have an FM 3 and an FM 9. But that's because I was a Beta tester for them for years! I've learned to appreciate the amazing capabilities of thes...

@mmmguitar
I saw your mention of waiting for the Axe FX IV to be released.
What makes you think that's coming?

Re: Springs
Billy Atkins (formerly of USM/Parker Guitars ) now more regularly goes by @Terry Atkins, whereas Billy is @billy :) No relation to Terry or Parker Guitars, but a heckuva guy 😉 OK. I only knew Terry as Terry, not Billy. Bill Henshell was also at USM at the same time. can't recall his title now. He w...

I'm a little confused. I know Terry AND Billy and they're not the same person. But Bill's last name is not Atkins. Terry's is. So who is Billy Atkins?

Re: My Coil Tap Mod for Three More Sounds
I have to get the exact dimensions of the switch that I found, but possibly something like this would work.

Re: My Coil Tap Mod for Three More Sounds
I think the solution is actually a rotary switch rather than a push pull design. Pretty sure that won't fit under the PCB either... and you still have to give up a control unless you're drilling holes. And there is the knob problem. If you give up a control for the rotary switch then you probably c...

Re: My Coil Tap Mod for Three More Sounds
Pretty cool Paul. The thing for me is that I use the master volume all the time and never use the actual magnetic volume. I would totally be into that mod but I would want to use the magnetic volume for it. The master volume is way too useful for me.

Here is one that seems to validate Mark's theory.
