If youR 9 spring is in good shape, you should be able to use it with your 10–gauge strings, but the current one definitely looks bad and I would not keep it in the guitar.

And she charged me $120 bucks at the time. Total cost with shipping - $1275. Those were the days. Thats awe...

Or a grounding issue. But less likely.

I use the AxeFxIII and I get excellent results with that. I use the tone match function or sometimes I have just downloaded some impulse responses from the net and use that. I’m not able to post a demo right now, but the results are fantastic.

Personally I don’t mind unplugging, but if I had to install such a switch, I’d want to just replace one of the pots with one that also functions as a switch. Turn down the tone pot and get a satisfying click at the end of the rotation indicating the battery is now disconnected.

I seem to see a renewed upswing in posted prices. Good specimens posted for 4-4.5K, beaters posted around 3-3.5. Not saying they are selling at these prices, but still - a definite rise.
