Re: the Anatomy of a Fly
Even "sealed", I'll be surprised if the pot was constructed without some mechanism of access for cleaning or replacing the carbon track (unfortunately, this is further counterproductive to your wanting to avoid messing with the flex assembly). If only I had the parts, I'd trade you! In th...

Re: the Anatomy of a Fly
Have you yet attempted cleaning and lubricating the pots ? Are you at all open to trying a different brand of 10k dual gang pot with 6mm shaft diameter and (I think ) minimum 19mm length (such as the 20mm Bourns that VJ linked to on the first page)? I actually don't remember offhand what the minimu...

Selling a NiteFly
I have a Nitefly that does not get played. SD pickups, great single coil tone. I just don't play single coil guitars. Caveats: No back plate to cover the springs; truss rod is at max tension. There is still a little relief. I'm no luthier so I don't know how to handle that properly and I don't want ...

Re: the Anatomy of a Fly
Anyone has master volume pots for a deluxe or classic in perfect shape? Looking for zero friction and mine are starting to feel a little gritty. Hard to do the Jeff Beck swells!

Re: DF824 MIDI… suggestions for guitar synth?
The 33 worked. Never tried the 55. Use to own the GR 50 rack, then the 33. Always wanted the Axon. Much better than any Roland unit for midi conversion, splits, etc. Can't comment on the VG series or 55. I bailed from the synth guitar world at some point. Too many false notes with the Roland to be u...

Re: Springs
I am by no means an authority on all things Parker. But in my 29-year career of playing Parkers: 1. I never had a spring issue. 2. I never had a truss rod issue. 3. I never saw a spring pop through the front of a guitar (though I heard of 2 mentions of it) 4. My 1994 red Deluxe, which I sold in 2002...

Re: Springs
I am sorry, but some of the changes introduced were NOT for the better (switches anyone?). So I would have to have the info in this video confirmed by Wilmington people before I put all my faith into it.

Re: diagnosing bridge pickup of '97 Fly Deluxe
I can't provide measurements and other tech input, but my bridge pickup is absolutely NOT thin or weak.
Something's wrong.
I'd start with checking the wiring.

Looks good to me ...Voice Of Reason wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 11:54 am Thanks for the input.
I’ve been playing a bit with it and all seems back to how it was (knock on wood).
Both bridge bushings seem fine, but maybe you can spot something I cannot:

Re: Play in trem arm bushing
Though it may be nothing, I’d suggest removing the rear cavity cover to check if what you experienced was the treble-side bridge post bushing moving itself out of the rear of the guitar slightly. If so, I find the bushing can easily be tapped back in (or lightly titebonded, if it’s worn its way loo...

Re: Late Introduction
Nice to officially meet you. As a note, I once had a marketing idea for Parker that I never had the chance to propose: Imagine three guitar players seen in XRay standing next to each other. The two on the outside obviously have Gibson and Fender guitars, the middle guy carries a Fly. Both Gibson and...

Re: Need help identifying my new Fly
Hello Patzag Thanks for checking in. I have Ms. Butternut dialed in, and have been enjoying her greatly. Everything else I own seems so much heavier, after playing a Parker for a while! These are certainly amazing guitars, so far ahead of their time and haven't seen anything comparable since. I kee...
