Re: Battery drain
Copy that. You've just saved yourself from a rude surprise! :D Unplugging the cord is very good advice for any brand of guitar (or bass) which has a battery powered circuit. I have 9 volt batteries that have lasted for years in several guitars, electric and acoustic-electric. Unplugging the cord is...

Yes. Certainly not a dumb question. Better to ask than waste!mikejcurtis wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 2:23 pm My Fly is my first electric guitar that requires a battery, so this may be a dumb question, it's certainly an ignorant one;
Is the battery draining as long as the guitar is plugged in?

Mod. Split coil with mag volume knob.
Hello folks. I am envisioning the possibility of a mod that would be reversible, I think. Here’s the concept: On my artist, I have come to enjoy the mid split position, contrary to my other Flys. Somehow, on that guitar, the mid position is not as wimpy as on the others. I’ve always loved the sound ...

If youR 9 spring is in good shape, you should be able to use it with your 10–gauge strings, but the current one definitely looks bad and I would not keep it in the guitar.

Re: Looking for a Fly in need of a refinish
Can’t seem to find a reasonably priced pre-refined in white, so I’m seeing if anyone has a beater Fly in need of a refinish. I have a line on a new paint job from a painter, just need to find the right guitar to have it done to. So if you’ve got one you’d like to get rid of, let me know! Exciting. ...

Well here is a bit of nostalgia for you guys. I bought my near mint 1994 white hard tail in 2017 I think for $1100 and sent it to Shazrock to fix a dent which brought it to perfect condition. And she charged me $120 bucks at the time. Total cost with shipping - $1275. Those were the days. Thats awe...

Yes. Probably a defective Fishman Powerchip.
Or a grounding issue. But less likely.

I use the AxeFxIII and I get excellent results with that. I use the tone match function or sometimes I have just downloaded some impulse responses from the net and use that. I’m not able to post a demo right now, but the results are fantastic.

Re: Pickup tone sounds tinny.
I am new to the Parker Fly. I will say it is the easiest guitar to play I have ever had in my hands. But, is there a way to adjust the pickup height or something that will give the guitar's sound more body and depth? Right now it sounds like single coil pickups no matter what I do. The coil tapping...

Nice comparison thread, VJ! My '99 Ruby Red Deluxe weighs in at 5.6 lbs. (without battery). My '06 Italian Plum Mojo weighs in at 6.7 lbs (with battery). My '97 Artist weighs in at just about two potato chips (scary light!). Yes I agree, the Artist is alive with overtones taking you to dreamland wi...

Re: Fly Pickups (Gen 1, Gen 2, and Other)
When I got my first Fly in 1994, I wanted the neck pickup to sound more PAF-like so I called Parker. Ken answered! He suggested I speak to Steve B at DiMarzip and gave me his number. I spoke to Steve and he was the kindest person. He listened attentively and then sent me a pickup which is still in t...
