Re: Dual pot from 98 plz help if you can...
10k dual pot? I know space is tight but it might be possible to shoehorn one of these in and wire to the flex. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Bourns/PDB182-GTRB1-104MN?qs=6oMev5NRZMHUmTL%2Fy42Xhw%3D%3D&mgh=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwspKUBhCvARIsAB2IYuuOQbfvEM8DwNXWAWBEa6I7lEJHgeIPzkZfzas9qh_3tzvH...

This is nuts. In a good way. But not in a way I’m ready to invest in. Yet. Lol

Re: Update- new plastic trem bar bushings
You bet, thanks VJ! Just fyi- the molded part has draft on the ID, so it gets a little smaller where the two core pins in the mold meet. This actually is pretty nice- it gives a good lead in for the bar and can deform slightly at the split line to fit the bar exactly without being too tight. Unfortu...

Re: My Coil Tap Mod for Three More Sounds
Good to see you again Paul, glad you’re still circuit bending. This is cool stuff, love the split humbucking set up. Not a fan of rotary switches on guitars personally- lots of torque that can mess up the wood and then they spin. I’d be inclined to cut a rectangular hole in the back plate and use a ...

Re: Nut replacement
Either black or clear should be fine. Nothing to lose! The eBay ones should definitely work if VJ says so. I don’t have much experience with the nitefly.

Update- new plastic trem bar bushings
Hey everyone-
Been meaning to post about this- I got my prototype bushings but they need a little tweaking. I expect some new parts in about two weeks.
Feeling really good about them so far- I think they will be much more reliable and functional than the stock molded parts.

Re: Nut replacement
Not sure about the nitefly but graphtech has more traditional shaped nuts that should work too. Probably the easiest thing is to fill the existing slot with some super glue and recut.

Re: Fly Body (original)
That’s cool- I have some surfaces started but have had lots of distractions. I do 3D surfacing professionally and it’s really not that bad aside from some tricky sections. The time consuming part is all the measurements and double checking. Your model looks pretty good so far. Let me know if you wan...

Re: Graphtech replacement saddles 2005 FLY
Congrats! Agree with VJ.
Fwiw The graphtech saddles are my favorite. I personally haven’t had issues using powerchip with them. Some do feel the ghost preamp is noisy though.

Re: Dreaded truss-rod issue post - is my fly fried?
No problem- I have another idea too that is harder to do but involves going in from under the nut. This presumes that nothing is sheared (or rather the truss rod is in tact) but the wood around it is deformed from over torquing. You’d probably still have the slight bulge but should allow for adjusti...

Re: Broken plastic where vibrato inserts into the tail.
Just a heads up, these are ordered and hopefully they arrive soon and in spec. Will let you know more soon! VJ- the 10-32 nylon tip set screw is almost exactly like the one I was looking at, but I’m probably going to go a bit longer- easier to handle and leaves less space for crud to collect. I’m al...

Re: High fret
I agree with earlier comments in general, but that chipping on the side looks like the fretboard could be delaminating. There were some others from around that same time period. Use a piece of masking tape (like a handle) near fret 4 to see if there’s any movement in the edge of the fretboard when y...

Re: Broken plastic where vibrato inserts into the tail.
So at a qty of 10 pieces, I can get these made in black delrin for just under $17. If I charge $20 and send first class mail, I think that would cover it. It will look very much like the original but not glossy, hard to remove tool marks in delrin. I updated the design to include a thru hole in the ...

Re: Broken plastic where vibrato inserts into the tail.
Yeah that should work. I created a CAD model today and measured the stock piece and I get .393 OD and .193 ID. (More roughly, 3/8 and 3/16.) I don’t remember the overall length. Anything about 1” long should work, there’s less than that engaging with the bridge. The rest just hangs below and doesn’t...

Re: Broken plastic where vibrato inserts into the tail.
Oh cool- great stuff JB!
Notes, meantime, you could remove that plastic that remains, spin it around and maybe good enough to use temporarily. Most likely it will split again.
