That is LOVELY!
I'm not sure what model that is. Do you have more pics? Is it carbon wrapped or bolt-on? I'd guess wrapped, because the pickup mounting is sweet - no ugly rings. And the gold trem is purty!
Oh, and is it MIDI? There are extra controls...

Re: Nut replacement
Seems like the classic issue - At least it’s a simple remedy. Most of my guitars have zero frets and/or metal nuts due to strings “sawing” through softer materials over time from trem use being a pet peeve of mine. I’d like to try out a black delrin ZeroGlide nut with stainless fret in one of my Fl...

Re: First Parker!
Indeed. Everything I liked about my fave Ibanezes (1990's Radius & Saber) - thin, light, fast. Except better at it than either of the Ibanez attempts.

Re: Input/suggestions for pickup demo wanted
I don’t really see the point in doing metal demos; as you can throw a rock in any direction on YouTube to hear someone demoing how a particular “pickup” sounds when only the lowest string is palm-muted and tremolo-picked through a Decimator, compressor, Maxon 808, another Decimator, 5150 amp sim in...

I'd buy 3 of these.

Re: Maintenance Kit
I tend to think this is the A slot in the nut that a touch low. Because fretting at the first fret makes the buzz disappear completely. I minimized it with a touch of truss adjustment, but I may need to raise that slot a skosh. Never done that before so ... time to learn! I think I have a couple of...

Re: Vibrato Arm Bushing (refined)
You should be able to find something like this locally www.amazon.com/Black-Nylon-Spacer-Thick-Robotics/dp/B07TQKR9NL?ref_=ast_sto_dp Double check the Id and OD, and get something close to 18-20 mm long. If needed, get a smaller ID and drill it to desired size. I like this idea. I got a bunch of th...

You might also consider the Hipshot set that has mounting plates so you needn't worry about the screw holes.

Re: Fly Saddles through the years
If I remember correctly it was a levels mismatch. The Fishman preamp expects a stronger piezo signal to be generated (or maybe it was the other way around, can't exactly recall many years later). I just remember dealing with weird distortion being created and tried so many things before I realized ...

Re: Fly Saddles through the years
The strings do a lot rubbing against the saddles; the saddles Ken used were stainless steel and they really won’t wear out. I don’t know for certain what the material is of the other saddles, but I’m confident that it is softer than the stainless saddles. Over time, string wear on those saddles wil...

Re: Fly Saddles through the years
Although the Graph Tech saddles worked physically better than the USM saddles, they didn't pair well with anything but the newer Graph Tech preamp. I think they may have had some kind of mismatch with the Fishman preamp (learned that the hard way). The USM saddles require some "clean-up" ...

Re: Springs
I always figured it was for the same reason Ken used the custom pickup mounting configuration - that it allows a slightly thinner body.
I prefer the coil springs of my DF724 myself, but I was used to Floyd before getting into Parkers.

Re: DF524 or Fly Classic Hardtail ?
I have both of these. The classic is the complete fly "vision": carbon wrapped, lighter, etc. But I never play it. I prefer the feel of the 524's wooden neck, I like the trem, I prefer the Duncan pickups, and the hardtail horn is just...ugh. I would bet, however, that I'm in the minority. ...

That was the dealbreaker for me until 2010 when I got my first DF. You could try padding it a bit?

Re: New Guitar Day from New Forum Member
That's cool. I never saw that before and as we're seeing, it doesn't show up on any catalog or archive.org web history search of Parker's pages. I can't speak to the wood, but my DF422 is alder - and if yours is mahogany maybe that's why the finish looks nicer on yours! I don't remember Parker using...

Re: New Guitar Day from New Forum Member
We're going to need to fill in gaps in some way, because there are things that Parker did that are non-canonical in any case. Mischasera's guitar isn't in any catalog. I've had two DF422FRs, and I can't find them in the catalogs either. That flat black that shows the wood grain isn't dusty, metallic...

Re: New Guitar Day from New Forum Member
THAT is an interesting beast! You and vjmanzo are mostly spot on with your thinking. There WAS a "Voodoo Black", though. It's a matte black finish where the wood grain shows through, and though yours looks a bit nicer, I have a DF422FR in this color (a Maxxfly with Floyd bridge). The 422 w...
