Re: Painting a Parker Fly

P.S.
You also have to monitor the airflow after each coat. You want enough air moving over the guitar so the solvents evaporate BUT if you have too much airflow it will dry too fast and you will have entrapped "solvent dots" in your clear

Re: Painting a Parker Fly

Try Chris Raposa . Chris was the first painter at Parker, the best painter Parker ever had (92-95). Chris is setting up his paint facility in MA, should be up and running early Spring 2024. He may be willing to paint Parkers complete with serial numbers , side markers and logos. I really doubt he wi...

Re: Paint issue???

Best Painter, I just talked with Chris Raposa. Chris was the first painter at Parker, (92-95) He was the best painter Parker ever had. Chris is in RI, has set up a paint studio. You might be able to have him paint your Parker. It won't be cheap because he's a perfectionist. If you are interested ema...

Born in Chicago, documentary

Last night I watched on Prime TV the best music documentary about the blues that I have ever seen, entitled "Born in Chicago". All of the greats are in it with original footage, Harvey Mandel is in it playing a Fly trem, at the ending he is playing a Fly painted in a flame design. The only...

Re: Parker Fly PPG Paint Codes

I realize that this is an old poist. Sorry but I don't come here often. Yes, I set up the paint systems for Parker. Initially I only used House of Kolor. Larry wanted badly to switch to PPG because he was afraid that HOK might not be able to keep up with demand. I resisted because I thought that HOK...

Re: Fly Deluxe Scratched

2nd P.S. If I remember correctly using INT's was the idea of Bernie Cherin. Bernie was a retired gentleman who we hired just to answer the phone. Bernie was much more talented than that !! Untimately he was the bookeeper, order parts and maintained the parts inventory, and managed all of the shippin...

Re: Fly Deluxe Scratched

P.S. We used INT's for the logo as well. Remember that I left Parker in the Spring of '93 after we got into production (went back later to help with the tooling for the Bass) so things may have changed after I left

INT's : I don't know how USM did it but we used INT's.

Yes, Korg owned 49% of Parker Guitars. (Japanese/American company. Parker used Korg's marketing System. The guitars were sent first to Japan because of Korg
