Re: Rubber Knob
Hey @KenanJ—I’m not sure why the STL for the knob is not in the repo, but I have some people looking into it. I’ll let you know when it turns up.

Re: the Anatomy of a Fly
Hi @Ericb71—yes, that is the correct part. As noted, it’s not the same as the original, but it is close.

Re: Rubber Knob
Hi KenanJ —I've tried a few different filaments, and I think a molded part like the original is best instead of a printed one. The knob linked on the parts list is the closest we come. I contacted Davie's Moulding about a minimum order for a custom all-black design, but they wanted something like 10...

Re: Downtuning and bar usage
Respectfully to Billy, the info in that post is not accurate for USM springs—Billy might be thinking of the thickness between a 9 and a 10, which differ in other dimensions, but do have the same steel thickness. The thickness of the 11 spring steel is .0020” thicker than a 10 spring. The bend inform...

Re: Downtuning and bar usage
Special thanks to @mmmguitar who first mentioned the Virtual Jeff to me/us on this forum years ago! I’d never heard of it before that.

Re: Downtuning and bar usage
Gotcha! Yes, I have the EHX Pitch Fork pedal and it’s pretty good! I’ve been preferring the FoMoFX Virtual Jeff Pro which has a polyphonic detune function as well, which is also pretty good!!
Keep us posted!

Downtuning, Intonation, and Vibrato usage with Heavy Strings
Hi Voice Of Reason —I have two hardtail Flys set up in B standard and I had one Fly Deluxe w/a vibrato previously set up in that same tuning. In my experience, setting up these Flys to intonate properly was possible by adjusting the saddles as far forward as possible in some cases and some light fil...

Dimarzio Pickup (Entire Assembly) Models
HI KenanJ —yes, we have an untested version of this assembly in our public Model Repository ; I moved it to the root of the repo directory in a folder called "Dimarzio Pickup". IIR, this came out pretty good, but we're going back five years on this particular set of models. Here's what the...

Experimenting with String Materials and Pickup Heights
@vjmanzo cna you elaborate more on the below? Is there a topic about that already ? (string height and string material) Happy to! Regarding pickup height, I was told, as a teenager, to “raise ‘em high and let ‘em fry”, which delivers a hotter signal to the amp, but, actually, with the Fly specifica...

Beware of Password Phishing Scams
Hi everyone, Please be mindful of password phishing attempts like this: IMG_4982.jpeg Sadly, our team puts a lot of effort into keeping our site secure, and we’ll try to prevent emails like this from originating (from a spoofed address no less), but these attacks do occur. Sorry about that and thank...

Re: Parker Fly "MethHead" Deluxe on Reverb
I saw that too—always a risk buying something like this. $800 starting + tax + $58 shipping, so you’re in it for closer to $900. My general thought is usually, “What would I ultimately put into this all-in before I felt comfortable/assured bringing it to a gig”. Unfortunately, we don’t know why that...

Re: the Anatomy of a Fly
Thanks, Peaches ! lemmy999 mmmguitar , thanks for pointing this out and all the effort. I updated the original post to reflect the links from Peaches' BOM from our Flex tests with parts 7103T1CWCBE and 7411T1CWZBE2 . Mouser shows the latter as out of stock right now, but not discontinued and I know ...

Re: Fly Classic Pickup Height Adjustment
Hi lemmy999 —thanks for pointing that out; maybe I should revise it for clarity. What I wrote wasn’t intended to sound contradictory to what is in the manual; some people felt like the manual didn’t really explain how this works. There is some foam padding on the underside of Fly pickups that pushes...
