Re: 1998 Fly Supreme
I know a number of Fly and NiteFly owners swear by the Fishman Aura and various inline IR loaders. I think I’m one of these owners, though I also spend a great deal of time swearing at my Fishman Aura and various inline IR loaders 😀 The attack of a piezo element, as part of an ADSR contour, is so d...

Re: 1998 Fly Supreme
I'd love to get my hands on a Deluxe Single 2 that was cosmetically rough but mechanically sound to put my finished touches on. Yeah—the Single 2’s don’t really pop up much, unfortunately. A couple folks here have them—I’ve never played one myself. I did install these Vintage Vibe P90s in a Deluxe,...

Special congrats to the used Fly case for rising in asking price to about half of what a used NiteFly sold for just two years ago!

Re: 1998 Fly Supreme
Looks terrific, BMA_USA ! Congrats and welcome!! Beautiful color and I can imagine the holographic features you’re describing! Bet it sounds killer! I wish I would have bought a player grade Fly to take to gigs and jams before the current price situation hit. Don’t worry: I have a beat-up Deluxe wit...

Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread
Selling guitars in our sleep, are we? 🤣 …it won’t exactly be a surprise if an impending economic depression in the US ends the guitar industry boom that began in 2020 after supply chain disruption, increased online window-shopping during lockdown, and desire by sellers to recoup increased Reverb ex...

Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread
So, it looks like the going asking price on Reverb is back firmly north of $3k.
Unrelated note: I got a notification that a seller named V from NY was selling a green Deluxe that looks just like mine and I got a quick twinge of panic!

Re: Need help identifying my new Fly
Thanks for posting this, FlyFan ! I absolutely remember seeing this post years ago, so it’s great to have a record of Ken’s words about this in this thread! Ken has recalled this same information to me and others many times, so I think the email narrative is legitimate as the seller claimed. Hope yo...

sold a few hours after... I noticed that! Three offers...I really wish Reverb was transparent about the actual selling price. :| Just posting this in case a clone of the listing pops up - It seems too good to be true. Yes, I did notice that listing and have noticed suspicious listings like that in ...

Re: Need help identifying my new Fly
The only minor mod I am considering is putting on locking Schaller strap buttons - easy to reverse. Good idea! I’m a DiMarzio Straplocks fan myself (similar concept), so I may I recommend to use the screws that are already in the Fly if possible as the ones that ship with the Schaller and DiMarzio ...

Re: Graphtech replacement saddles 2005 FLY
Do you feel that they positively affect sustain? FWIW—my personal view is that claims about aftermarket mechanical components adding sustain are difficult to quantify. The original Fly has a lot of sustain because it was built a certain way, and the materials Ken chose, at best, subtract only a lit...

Re: Need help identifying my new Fly
Happy to help, FlyFan ! Yes, 27, means 27 of 50, and the person you bought it from was likely a collector. I looked at that auction and was discussing a bid on that one with Ken Parker who had asked me to keep an eye out for a Fly Butternut. Ya know...'cause he doesn't already have enough guitars! :...

Re: Need help identifying my new Fly
You got the Butternut!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!! 🥳 Here’s some info on the different types of wood, but you’ve got a rare one that Ken and crew only made about 50 of due to limited supply of butternut wood (the body material). There are several other tonewoods variants that have existed through the y...

Hi Lenny22 , I see that mmmguitar replied while I was typing, so I’ll say that agree with everything he said. Happy to help
for sure. The NiteFly Mojo and pickup rings on the NiteFly first appear in the catalogs in 2004.

Re: Nitefly Mojo - bridge pickup screws
Hi andrea.costanza —I believe that those screws work in tandem with the springs to allow the pickup to be raised or lowered, so if you remove the pickup cover, the spring should be loose. Once you take the cover off, you'll be able to see how it all assembles, I think. You can re-seat the spring aro...

Re: Private Reserve Maxxfly? Koa
Hi cadspazz —congrats on a great MaxxFly DF842! You can read about this model in the last four years of catalogs (2012 - 2015). They came stock in alder body (Belew’s 842 had a mahogany body) and, as you know, as a custom shop order in other wood types!! Beautiful instrument for sure! Congrats again...
