Re: Your thoughts on the Fly Mojo
Keep in mind when people talk about weight differences on Flys it's not like the difference between a Strat and a Les Paul where one weights 7lbs and the other 10lbs, in my experience Flys are roughly in the same ballpark as far as weight goes, and they're all lighter than pretty much anything else...

Re: Your thoughts on the Fly Mojo
Yes, it’s a different flavor when I need it; the SD pickups are voiced differently from the DiMarzios. I/You can dial in a similar sound to a Fly Mojo with a Fly Classic or a Fly Deluxe and maybe a pickup height adjustment, but as a direct comparison with all of the other components in the signal ch...

Re: Your thoughts on the Fly Mojo
Hey KenanJ —I’ll copy something I wrote in another thread: I mostly use my Mojo when I need to record something clean, and I use the neck pickup; I really think the SD Jazz neck pickup is something special. As Pat noted, it’s heavier than a Deluxe. I now gig with my Deluxe, but I played out regularl...

Re: Fly partially detached fret(s) issue
Hi Jupiter —sorry to hear that’s it gotten to this point. I’d feel frustrated and sad if I were in your situation—it’s also puzzling considering that your other Fly is fine! 🤔 Would you consider selling the Fly as-is in lieu of all of the work you’ve proposed? I’m certain that someone would want to ...

Re: P-44 trying to date - catalogs, specs don't line up
I am inclined to think that those are 2009 instruments given the P before the serial, which was a USM-era thing with serials. The import models likely deviated in terms of the colors reflected in the catalog.

That’s $575 well spent! It looks professional, and, clearly, you’re much happier with it than the old color. Way to go!!

Hi @Jupiter—sorry to hear that. I would be getting a little frustrated too.
May I ask, what’s the relative humidity like in your studio/home?

Re: Strap locks for Fly
Do you have the big mono strap ? Yes!! I like it very much! It’s bigger than most straps, but it’s very comfortable. It’s on a guitar that is a little heavier than a Fly, and the strap makes it feel like the instrument weight is more distributed whereas the strap I was using previously felt like th...

Re: General Fly Cleaning process
I usually run one under the sink and get it wet if I need to get gunk off of a fretboard. If the buildup is significant, I’ll use my fingernail under the microfiber cloth to help scrape it off the fingerboard—it’s possible to scratch the fingerboard, but I’ve never done that in this way (with my fin...

Re: Reverb article - Ken Parker thoughts
Happy to help! I’ve spoken about that number, 30,000, a few times with Ken Parker and his former associate at Parker Guitars. It’s an estimate for sure—possibly a high estimate—but they were speaking about Flys and NiteFlys and not the imports, which were made by Cort as noted in the History thread.
