Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread

Market tip: If you ever need to quickly increase the value of your '94 Galaxy Gray Deluxe (138094BP), you can use a grease-clogged kitchen sponge to speckle some pink, purple, and green acrylic paints over the clear coat until the guitar's able to be mistaken for an egg laid by a rodeo clown. Then,...

Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread

That listing is so disingenuous that I've saved it for future reference. At least glue the thing - Whoever bids more than a grand for that project is liable to win and receive the guitar with the broken-off chunk rattling around in the box. The seller's previous feedback seems pertinent: feedback.png

Reattaching a Fly nut

What is the best way to re-adhere a loose Fly nut? Is this a repair that can be completed at home or should I take it to a luthier? Welcome, and congrats on the acquisition. It's an "at home" job: If you have the strings loosened enough to pull the nut out from under them, you can apply t...

Re: Anyone Know What these Markings Are?

I don't have anything certain to contribute beyond also having owned Flys with the sharpie'd foil side of the rear covers. I just assumed it was for the sake of logging the progress of orders as they moved along the assembly line (I think both of the '97s I've owned had writing).

Re: Stuff I found on Craigslist

Seems like a good price but IDK. Alls I know is the other Nitefly I've seen on CL in the area has been up for months at $1800. We had some sub-$1k Nitefly listings on eBay and Reverb in 2nd quarter 2023 (with this listing having sat from March 20th through April 5th alongside a dozen or so competin...

Re: Specific Tuners for NiteFly V2

Though I'm not a Nitefly owner, ThatOneAzn360 , it appears to use the same set of tuners as the Fly (Sperzel all short-post non-graduated inline locking tuners with #5 button). If you or your tech reach out to the Spercels and let them know you have a Parker Nitefly, they'll make sure you get the co...

Re: Pricing of a mint Parker Fly Supreme 05'

Is the supreme really heavier or it's just a matter of (grams)? I was speaking to a potential difference of perhaps only three to five hundred grams - Not significantly more; and still much lighter than most guitars. I think weight is, by far, the spec which fluctuated the most in Fly production (M...

Re: FYI no piezo sound easiest cure

Thanks for sharing, tronathan . You're right to point out that, unless you're being more circuit-minded concerning how the piezo power switching works, the other end of the cable's plug shield failing to connect to ground at the input jack of the next piece in the signal chain (necessary to complete...

Re: Pricing of a mint Parker Fly Supreme 05'

KenanJ , is that price in USD? If so, recent Supreme and Artist sale prices have ranged from $4,000 to $6,000 USD; which would contextualize $3.5k as being a low asking price. If not USD, you can convert the prices I'm presenting: Based on current and recently ended listings, speculators willing to...

Re: NiteFly Piezo Troubleshooting and EMGs

How do I remove the 9V battery case to clean the contacts? I see a screw that I can loosen, but I cannot easily remove the case. I haven't owned a Nitefly to say; so I'll instead point out that you can clean the battery terminals of the installed box by sticking a cotton swab down in there: https:/...

Re: NiteFly Piezo Troubleshooting and EMGs

vaya , your guitar appears to have the NiteMix preamp with the mono/stereo push button on the pickguard (you can search "nitemix" within the Wiring Guides page to bring up a diagram). The 9v negative (-) terminal in your battery box appears to be heavily oxidized and; because it's wired t...

Re: NiteFly Piezo Troubleshooting and EMGs

vaya , assuming your Nitefly serial dates it to 2002, does it use the Fishman Powerchip (PCB-mounted pot, pictured below), or a different preamp? powerchip.jpg When you say you got the piezo preamp working temporarily through "turning knobs", did you find that that turning the magnetic ci...

Is there a chance that you still have the one on the right and could send it to Germany? According to his profile page, InsideInfo hasn't logged in, recently. However, I've tagged him so he'll have the notification when he does swing back by. In the meantime, have you solicited in the Parker FB gro...

Re: Parker Fly, NiteFly, and Fly Bass Electronics and Wiring Guides

Mitch5 , it would need to function as a SPDT momentary on-off-on to trigger the S1/S2 switching used in 13 pin synths. Having never gotten a look under the hood of a Graph Tech-era Mojo MIDI, this answers a ten year lingering question of mine (as well as explaining why none of us ever heard about a...

Re: Parker Fly, NiteFly, and Fly Bass Electronics and Wiring Guides

Thanks, Mitch5 . The way the factory modified the contacts of the switches comes up often enough that I was thinking of consolidating many of the posts pertaining to it (probably under this thread ). And thanks specifically for the time you took to make a proper diagram - The last one I made was a p...

as of now, completely no signal when plug in. Will be back with an update :D Have a fun surgery! In the last photo you attached, a black wire connected to the magnetic tone pot appears to be broken. Re: need help identifying this Nitefly

I just got my hands on a Parker NiteFly, but I'm not sure which version it is. Though I'm no Nitefly expert, this PDF in the Nitefly History thread pinned just above yours seems to state that the pickguard-mounted mono/stereo push-button switch (known as the NiteMix preamp) and HSS pickup layout id...

Re: Locking Tuner Issue

I can't put in strings because I can't unlock the locking tuner. If the knobs turn, but the pin in the tuner post won't fall out of the way to allow room for the string end, tap (or forcefully knock) the top of each tuner post with something to knock its pin loose. If you don't have a rubber mallet...
