Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread
Market tip: If you ever need to quickly increase the value of your '94 Galaxy Gray Deluxe (138094BP), you can use a grease-clogged kitchen sponge to speckle some pink, purple, and green acrylic paints over the clear coat until the guitar can be mistaken for an egg laid by a rodeo clown. Then, be sur...

Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread
This silver USM-era Deluxe erroneously listed as a '97 has had a Roland GK internal kit installed, and ships in the factory case with an asking price of $3,435. I'm afraid the seller has omitted the serial from the listing - So if this ends up flipped, it will be identified by the mod and paint scra...

Re: Chipping on fretboard?
If I turn the volume down and back up again, it takes several seconds worth of crackling before the signal comes back through. Mag volume or piezo volume? The mag volume can be cheaply replaced with any common 500k pot if cleaning it out and checking the solder connections at the lugs yields no imp...

Re: Mod. Split coil with mag volume knob.
Anyone here have the idea or the technical knowledge of how I could accomplish this without destroying the guitar? I think I do. I'll explain how, then explain what makes it difficult: What you're describing would require a dual gang pot with a no-load mod to its tracks (so that, at 10, the series-...

Re: Chipping on fretboard?
Congrats on the acquisition, kidislegend . Firstly, the fingerboard indentation(s) are not anything you have to worry about getting worse - The most common chip locations are in the paint along the sides of the neck. It looks to me as though someone may have been using a crowning file on the fret wh...

FS: 2011 Supreme w/Sustainiac, Hexpander mods
Being as I'm moving at the end of the month, the time has come to part with a few of my extra guitars. My ownership between 2020 to present is documented here . Because Patzag , colliderman , and InsideInfo have previously inquired about buying the guitar, they have first refusal. In the event the t...

Re: How the Fly Vibrato Bridge Works: Yet Another Guide to Setting up your Floating Bridge
@lucas.kratochwil, the Ernie Ball Cobalts supposedly have a slightly lower tension than their normal Slinkys. I'd try Pat's suggestion to test it with your 9 spring.

dougc84 , I'm curious about approximately how many steps up in pitch your G detunes before this happens. Though it's likely different for every Fly, I just measured my 2011 (same parts as your Mojo) as having around 3.31mm/0.13" space for pull-up travel between the ridge plate and step-stop bl...

Re: Help identifying
Hi all. My friend has this guitar he's had for a few years now his father gave to him but we're having trouble identifying it. The serial is 0407233USA. Welcome. Two years ago (almost to the day), someone (presumably your friend) inquired about that guitar without giving any info other than the ser...

Re: Fly Pickups (Gen 1, Gen 2, and Other)
timshephard , the pole piece height adjustment is a matter of personal preference. You can adjust them to balance relative volume between strings, coils, and pickups; as well as to emphasize or de-emphasize bass and treble frequencies. If you’re trying to get a D28 sound out of humbuckers, you may ...

Crumplepunch , Congrats on the acquisition, and welcome to this little corner of the Parker Guitars community. Re: Where does my bridge ground wire connect?
Though I haven't owned a Parker which left the factory with Ghost saddles, Piplodocus , I've installed them on a few Flys. I take it the underside of your Fly bridge looks like this: fly ground 2.jpeg Rather than fly ground.jpeg If you have no roughed spot on the underside of the bridge, I'd say you...

@mikejcurtis, we’d also be happy to listen to a recorded example; just in case the tinny sound is anything more than dialing in the new guitar for your rig.

Re: Guide: Fly Sustainiac Installation
Bump. Here's how to consolidate the Sustainer on/off and normal/octave-up switching to a single tone control pot, as the Adrian Belew Fly does: You need to modify a dual gang push-pull pot. Because Bourns seems to produce the only readily available one, that's what I'm using. You can modify a standa...
