Re: how much is a fly A-1 worth

Gotcha—that’s a 2007 Fly Deluxe.

For reference, here’s a 2005 Fly Deluxe in the same color in seemingly “Very Good” condition that a store has been trying to sell for $3,800 with the option to accept offers.

Re: how much is a fly A-1 worth

Hi @oktav,

We have a thread devoted to this very discussion here, and the short answer seems to be “around $2,500”, though depending on the model and condition of your Fly, that may vary.

If you tell us a bit more about it, then we can help you get a sense of what you might be able to get.

Re: NFV1 Piezo is cutting out when I play kinda hard

Hi Androo ! Glad you’re here—welcome! So, there’s no preamp in the chain between your NiteFly piezo output and the input of the Fractal? Something like this might be the solution if the issue is related to an impedance mismatch—as you may know, the first two versions of the NiteFly had the passive p...

The Schrödinger guitar. I may or may not have one of those - Haven't looked, yet. 🤣🤣🤣 Looks cool—sounds good too! Would love to play one!! Curmudgeonly side bar comment: just once in my life I’d like to click on a “guitar tone demo” video where they simply play a sustained chord into a clean amp wi...

Re: “What’s This Worth?” Thread

Other than Facebook Marketplace and guitar forums such as this that take no commission off private transactions between members, what alternatives to Reverb are you folks perusing? If I was looking to sell a Fly, I’d try to go for a private sale through a community like this forum (via a PayPal or ...

FWIW if you’re intending to replace the button, we have been using these switches with these covers with our Flex PCB replacement prototypes—still a work in progress, but figured I’d share.

Re: Fly Mojo Quality control

Hi Alex —sorry to hear about this. QC was seemingly still strong during the USM years, but occasionally some things slipped out of the gate in less-than stellar shape, which seems to have happened far less during the “Ken years” at Parker. Having said that, 2008 was reportedly a production year vexe...

Lemme guess—an Amazon Basics battery inside? 🧐 Energizers fit with a little room, and a dime comes in handy to unscrew that compartment when needed!

Glad this worked out!

Re: My 1996 Fly Classic just quit. Help!

Did the guitar ever work while in your possession? In addition to what others have said, @JimmyFly, what brand cable are you using? If the jack is loose, don’t try to tighten it by turning it—did you do that by any chance?

Adjusting Pickup Height to Change Tone/Timbre

Hi Deke! Welcome! That is one fine Italian plum!! ;) Smokin'! Congrats! I'm prepared to lovingly advocate for the poor Gen 1's! Sure, they may sound like icicles to some people, but with a little adjustment they'll warm right up :D Before you go swapping them, Deke, have you tried lowering th...

Good assessment, Marc—I see lots of listings follow the same trajectory you’ve mentioned and end up in the $2500-ish area.

Re: Picked up another Deluxe

Gotcha! A bit of a mystery it seems 🙂 I’ll review some of my docs and see if anything precludes the Gen 2s from showing up before 2001. The guitar obviously made its way to the paint shop in ‘99, but—who knows: maybe it came back to the factory from a retailer and picked up new pickups? That scenari...

Re: Picked up another Deluxe

Nice, Gregsaab ! Glad it’s a winner! Yes, 2001 was around the turning point for installing Gen 2s at the factory, but there are certainly outliers and oddities out there—I suppose its not impossible that the guitar was built in ‘99 and wasn’t sold right away. 🤷 Are you saying that this guitar was th...

Hey @FireFly71, we're working on replacement Flex PCBs as you may know, and we have been using these switches with these covers with success.

Hope this helps!

Re: Hi, New Member, old Parky Fly MIDI

I was just thinking of wiring directly to the 1/4" output jack to bypass what I'm not using, but leaving that mod reversible. Oh that’s a good approach 👍 Yes, there are definitely replacement pickguards out there from WD Music , and potentially original NiteFly pickguards if you message Mike G...

Re: Hi, New Member, old Parky Fly MIDI

if you happen to not care for the MIDIAxe circuitry under the hood, there are others in the community who will likely buy the parts off of you. I completely agree with mmmguitar’s thoughts here. Maybe you can even trade with someone in the community for another NiteFly? 🤷 If the MIDI guts are opera...
