Re: Somebody buy this Hardtail so I don’t have to.
Its perfect, save for this deal breaker. I think this is the one Dayn was after and may have even owned for a bit. I have a stealth that he set up kind of like that and its a perfect modeling solution. I could live with the paint chip, but the deal breaker for me is the lack of tremolo with crazy o...

What's the story on this paint job? Did you buy the guitar with it, or did you customize it?

I'm not on facebook, so I'm glad you shared it here.
Nice thread title, too. I knew immediately what you meant. The Police has always been a great band for guitar.

Here is what the tool looks like.
This came with my Supreme, but nothing like it was included with the Deluxe. I'm not sure whether it was standard, or something obtained separately.- Sun Jun 14, 2020 5:42 pm

Re: Strange Clicking noise is driving me mad
Cell phones and modern watches, along with various other electronics can emit magnetic fields that might be picked up by the guitar's electronics. Looks like your watch is not a crazy bluetooth gadget, but I guess what I'm leading to is: Does this clicking occur in any other location besides your ho...

Re: 2011 Trans Honey Supreme
I'm going to follow your progress as closely as I can! I've got a plan to do what you're describing - at least after I've given myself some time with the pre-refined. Like you, I'm not going to monkey with my pre-refined. I have the impression that the refined Fly models are "thicker" and ...

Re: the Anatomy of a Fly
Is this correct one? https://www.stewmac.com/electronics/components-and-parts/jacks/fishman-switchjack-endpin-jack.html Actually, on further digging it looks like the Fishman is a rebranded Switchcraft 4 connector stereo end pin. Could this be the case? Would this work? If so it would be a lot chea...
Action
The Handbook says .070" for the Low E and .050" for the High E, so I purchased a gauge and did a little reading. Wikipedia says .090" to .060" while this Dunlop String Action Gauge suggest .060" and .040" for electric guitar. I started out as a teenager adjusting action...

Re: Missing: charge of battery bulb.
Thank you wheresthedug. I didn't even know what color of LED to order because the original one is gone. I'll check into ordering one and try it. The color doesn't really matter so much as the voltage. If the replacement has a lower voltage, then it will use more current, but since the LED only stay...

Re: Fret-to-fretboard Jig
Great design!
I just listened to the Ken Parker talk where he explained that the frets have grooves on the back so they'll grip the glue better and not move around.

Re: Hexaphonic piezo rewiring?
yes, the later Flys used both the Graphtech piezo elements and the Ghost system; a summary of the Fly changes through the years is available here. Ah, right: the Graphtech signal noise is potentially compounded by using the original non-Graphtech Fly saddles with the original Fishman piezo elements...

Re: Rocktron Pro G.A.P. + Eventide Eclipse
Still dialing this in, but I have the dual Rocktron Pro G.A.P. setup to handle the piezo and magnetics separately. They're mixed in the Eventide Eclipse before the amp.

Re: Hexaphonic piezo rewiring?
My Godin Freeway SA has the Ghost system, and I like it. You're right: Each string has its own channel on the 13-pin connector. As a bonus, there is a 7th audio channel that carries the magnetic pickup signals like a standard, passive guitar's mono output. You probably know that the 13-pin carries p...

Re: Replacement PCB (pre-refined)
I don’t know if you’re acquainted with Dayn Warren, but he’s Washington-based and well-known for accumulating and reselling Gen 1 Fly components. Though not active here the way he was on the old board, I expect he’ll be quick to respond on whatever platform you message him on for it to be worth a s...

Hexaphonic piezo rewiring?
I need to stop coming up with new ideas for modifications, and get to playing. That said... Has anyone rewired the piezo bridge to separate the six strings into individual channels? That would surely require a 13-pin jack or other multi-channel wire, but it seems possible. Each piezo bridge piece st...

Re: 2000 Pre-Refined Trem arm falls out
The screw is not intended to keep in the arm in place. It was never intended to do that. It is there to increase or decrease the tension on the bushing and allow it to rotate freely or not. The actual correct, if slightly difficult to master, technique to keep the arm in place is to bend the part t...
Schematic
It's great that we have a schematic for the Parker Fly, but it's a bit on the odd side. For folks who like transistor and op-amp circuits, this schematic is a little different, and thus difficult to understand. It seems to be oriented more for figuring out what little point-to-point wiring is in the...

Re: A summary of the Fly changes, issues, and forum opinions through the years and a brief history of Parker Guitars
the battery use also contributes to the misunderstanding that Fly magnetic pickups are active while they are in actuality passive pickups run through an active buffer. I'm just focused on the "misunderstanding" part, because all pickups are passive. Even guitars with pickups that require ...

Re: A summary of the Fly changes, issues, and forum opinions through the years and a brief history of Parker Guitars
Side note: Something I’d always wanted to see in a Fly was a buffer that normalized the amplitude between the series-humbucking and split (or parallel) pickup. That's a great idea. The Fishman Fly 1 Rev 1 circuit already allows a trim pot to balance between piezo and magnetics. Normalizing the seri...
