Nice thread title, too. I knew immediately what you meant. The Police has always been a great band for guitar.
Thanks - yes, Andy Summers is one of my faves

Re: Fly Artist Setup

Congrats on the artist, great score- love mine! For the paint chips on the side of the neck, use a sharpie to blend the color and then put a little ca (super) glue over it. You can gently sand and polish the glue out to be nearly invisible (per YouTube vids), or just try to apply as smoothly as you...

Re: Fly Artist Setup

For the intonation, check for leaning bridge posts, where the bridge will sit a little too close to the neck. There’s a really awesome guide available :D should you need to address leaning posts. Also check that the spring tension is set properly, this can also cause intonation issues. Thanks billy...

Re: Fly Artist Setup

the break angle behind the nut looks fine .. it's almost as if the tuner is shifted a bit too far to the right on the headstock ..

Re: Fly Artist Setup

thanks for the info VJ - no, fretboard lifting that I can see. What do you use to fill and touch up those spots with? I agree, the general build quality on my early-2004 Mojo is much better than the 2008 Artist. I thought about filing the nut for 10's to see if that helps move things into place a bi...

Re: 2011 Trans Honey Supreme

I've noticed some chipping on the edge of the neck around the 3-4 frets on the Low E side (see photos) - not sure if this is causing into my issues or not. And I don't know what others steps I can take to remedy this - any suggestions would be helpful. I got it for under 2k .. the paint chipping on...

Re: 2011 Trans Honey Supreme

and yes - I own a Carvin Holdsworth "Fat Boy" - the neck is huge! so much so that the guitar is unbalanced and tilts to the floor neck side if you're not holding it ..

Re: scratchy piezo ..

I found the solution (pun intended) - sprayed and cleaned between the ball bearings and under the saddle and now all is working just fine!

Re: 2011 Trans Honey Supreme

thanks for the great info here - Indeed, I spent the last two days tweaking my 2008 Artist - I just could't get everything to settle in as nicely as my 2004 Mojo - adjusted the truss rod, set the action and buzzing between the 5-8 frets on the first string - back and forth with truss and bridge adju...

Re: Tremolo Springs

Hi, It's very hard to find #9 and #10 springs for the tremolo system on the Parker Fly. You can still get #11 and #12 springs on Ebay or Reverb. Does anyone have any experience with string and spring gauges higher than 10. Thanks, R. I just purchased a 10 spring from this guy for $30 - a bit pricey...

Re: scratchy piezo ..

I wonder if painted string ends would cause an insufficient electrical path? Are D’Addario’s painted or brass? Inquiring minds might have a set on hand... :) Could dirt or dust under the piezo saddles cause scratchiness? good questions - I haven't tried changing the string out yet but I will this w...

Re: scratchy piezo ..

JB63’s suggestions are where I’d start. I’ve also heard recently (but have never really experienced personally) that certain strings other than D’Addario (recommended in the manual) have ends that can cause grounding issues. I have no idea what to make of that, but if your piezo seems to work somet...
